Colditz

I enjoy watching this series repeatedly because of the powerful portrayal of the characters and situations. It wasn't historically accurate in detail but it used fact to create a drama that very much reflected the life and times of the people there both captors and captives.

It dealt with some of the terrible dilemnas faced by the German captors as much as the prisoners which wasn't typical of war films up to that time.

Some of the best actors on TV took part and the whole production created an atmosphere that seemed far more real than any typical production these days with all the advanced technology compared to 1972. I think it deserves to be rerun just to show how a drama should be made!
