      • Rick Jason was an early favorite in the series, and received a surprising amount of fan mail. Executives at ABC wanted to capitalize on this, and asked director Robert Altman to feature Jason in a solo episode. Producer Seligman, insisting that the ensemble cast always be used, told Altman that he couldn't shoot "Escape to Nowhere"...but Altman did anyway.
