Comedy Connections

Show Summary

Comedy Connections is a British documentary that broadcast in series of episodes starting from 2003. The show is produced by BBC Scotland for BBC One, and after bringing a lot of the success, spin-offs of Comedy Connections have followed such as Drama Connections and Movie Connections. The name of the show comes from the real connections it has with people engaged in the comedy industry, and interviewing people from the cast, footage or crew is how they look behind the stories of famous comedy programmes in Britain. The documentary has six series and a special one in which they look into different types of comedy works. Series 1, 2, 5 and 6 feature sitcoms and some samples of surreal sitcoms in their episodes, while series 3 is about sketch show, and series 4 talks about a combination of sketch shows and sitcoms. Each episode lasts about half an hour, and episodes are presented by Julia Sawalha (for 14 episodes), who, later on, leaves her place to Doon Mackichan for the next 32 episodes.
