Comedy School

Show Summary

Comedy School is a reality series that originally aired on SBS One, a television network in Australia. It consists of four thirty-minute episodes that were broadcast on Saturday at 9:45 p.m. beginning on November 6, 2010. This series follows a class of students in a real stand-up comedy class taught by Rob McHugh, a professional stand-up comedian. The four-week class takes the students from complete novices to comedians ready to perform in front of an audience. The class concludes with live performances by the students before a paying audience at the Comedy Store, a famous comedy club in Sydney. The series also explores the students' reasons for taking the class. Harry is using the class to relieve his depression after his diagnosis of muscular dystrophy. Gonzo wants to use his drug addiction as material in his act. Emma wants her routine to dispel the blonde stereotype. The director for the series is Martyn Ives.
