The latest in a long line of celeb reality shows began, Comic Relief Does Fame Academy, but it was clear this one would break the mold set by the likes of Big Brother and Survivor. It was not only personalities that counted in this game, our eight lucky celebs needed to prove their musical talent to survive as well! On this, the launch night, all eight celebrities sang for the public and the 500+ strong audience at the Fame Academy mansion. First up was Ulrika with her rendition of Paul Diamond's "You Don't Bring Me Flowers" and the judges all agreed she could have chosen a better song for her voice. She was followed by Cold Feet star Jon Thomson with Tom Jones' c "It's Not Unsual". The Hollyoaks heart-throb Will Mellor was next with his version of Robbie Williams' "Let Me Entertain You". Comedian Jo Brand followed him with "You Dont Have to Love Me" by Dusty Springfield. She was followed by Jonathon Ross' brother Paul, who performed "That's Life" from Frank Sinatra. Kids TV Presenter Fearne Cotton followed with "Killing Me Softly" by the Fug'ees and she was followed by the Smack The Pony writer and star Doon Mackickan who sang "Can't Take My Eyes Off You". The academy teachers' favourite of the night came when Kwame of Casualty fame sang "Ain't No Sunshine" from Michael Jackson. And finally, possibly the most memorable of the night was Ruby Wax singing the Lolly song "Hey Mickey!", Ruby was a self confessed bad singer but the audience loved her 'unique' as the voting would prove. In the late night show, Cat and Patrick returned with the news of which celeb would not even be entering the academy, the celeb who would be leaving early than any. The public vote had gone against him and his fellow students too decided it was time for him to walk the walk and miss the chance of entering the academy.moreless
