Since it's the series finale, I'd thought I'd start this one early.

Such an apt title for a series finale.

I hope I don't forget the show is on this week like I did last week. I should write it on my hand......

This episode was freaking amazing. It delt with issues that are at the core of the show and at the core of questions we have to ask ourselves as Americans.

I am so disappointed in ABC for killing this show. I can only hope that they do in fact make a movie,  I will even take it one step further to hoping it becomes a series once again.

It would probably stayed on the air if Templeton's and Mac's positions were reversed -- I've noticed that when you have an idealistic president or senator, like Commander in Chief or Mr. Sterling, the show gets killed one way or the other in first season. If on the other hand you are torturing people like 24, or do some tabloid thing, you'll stay for a very long time

Last night's episode rocked!  I love that the VP could've been a black person!  Now THAT and a female President?  Wow!  And yes!  Finally Dickie gone.  He should've been gone a long time ago but oh well, I'm glad the writers heard my prayers and got rid of him.  Him going back to Templeton was intriguing though.  But I guess he could've ruined Templeton in the way he was trying to control Mac....so that could've been a point for Mac's camp.  The end with the kids chanting Mac's name I thought was a bit cheesy but a good note to end it kind of telling us that she could've been reelected.  Alas, all these could'ves, could'ves, could'ves that will never get resolved.    It's a sad, sad day.

For all of you who feel the same as Pat, the campaign to finish ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment is ACTIVE and the show's content was based on the current three state strategy to get the ERA fully ratified. If you want to find out more about the current status of the ERA campaign, go to www.4ERA.org. We need you all to help us get this "Unfinished Business" of the Constitution finished.

This was a good episode and it ended the series perfectly, i'm thinking it was originally the season finale since it asked questions as well as clearing "unfinished Business". Anyway i'm glad we didn't end on Katherines IM pal being a psycho and having Gardner willing to run as VP, pointless gesture cause it doesn't mean they would win but lets in the show on a hopeful note. I wasn't happy to see dickie go he served his purpose and I think it's childish that because he didn't have totally altruistic motives, Mac got rid of him. Well whatever it did it was foder for the imagination as well as a good episode which is good enough for me. As to comparisons to other political shows that didn't make it I have to say in the case of Mister Sterling, it was the most boring thing i've ever seen. Which would explain why it got cancelled for this show I blame lack of advertising.

Personally, i thought it was a good episode but an awful Season Finale let alone a Series Finale.  It was almost like the start of a new theme arch going on but it wasn't fully developed yet.  I don't know i'm upset the show got cancelled i think it had great potential.  lets just hope this "rumored" mini-series/tv movie is true.

I agree that it was not a good series finale. It looks like they just decided to go with whatever was already in the can.

Question: Isn't there a requirement that a show have at least 22 episodes in order to qualify for syndication? If so CiC doesn't make it.

22 episodes? I WISH! In order to go into syndication, a show must have 4 seasons or 100 episodes....  at least that's what I read once.

It was production problems from what I have read...that and switching producers/writers or something like that.

You have a point -- still check the site itself -- there were excellent shows like Mister Sterling about an Independent junior Senator, First Monday with a moderate Supreme court Judge , Commander in Chief -- with a very progressive President -- they all ran into problems like CiC and were killed Sterling at Episode 11 and First Monday on episode 13, CiC ended on episode 18. In each they mentioned problems of one kind or another, but I noticed that if the show is more FOX themed (as in 24) it survives all kinds of problems, but if you have something diametrically opposed, it dies.

The Season Finale was good, but the whole ERA thing, don't get me wrong, the ERA and Mac rock, but I don't know, it was a little cheesy. But at the same kind I couldn't hate it, because I wish it was.

Dickie gone! YES!!! I love Jim being VP, and Rebecca's thing is interesting. It's too bad it's cancelled. I'm sad.

I am really disappointed that this is the last episode I will watch of Commander in Chief. I was busy with school and work this last year and I finally caught up with Commander in Chief to finally find it cancelled. I was extremely disappointed. I agree that it wasn't the best series finale because it was just so open-ended. Hopefully when those loose ends will be tied up in the made for tv movie.

The series had already been canceled so they probably decided not to put any more advertising into it.
