Conan O'Brien's late-night series Conan has been renewed through 2018, TBS announced Wednesday. The new deal adds another three years to O'Brien's contract.

"Conan has not only brought an incredibly young audience to TBS but has also created a digital presence that draws millions of fans to his unique brand of comedy," Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TBS, said in a statement. "In addition, Conan has taken his show on the road for memorable weeks in New York, Atlanta, and last month in Dallas, and will be breaking new ground next year when Conan becomes the first late-night show to tape at Comic-Con. We couldn't have asked for a better late-night host or a more enthusiastic ambassador for the TBS brand."

Though Conan averages only 862,000 viewers per episode, TBS says the series draws in more adults in the 18-to-34 demographic than its competitors, including Late Show with David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel, and Watch What Happens Live.

Conan's renewal is the latest in a long series of late-night "events" that've already come to pass in 2014. Namely: Jay Leno retiring from The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon taking over Leno's old desk at The Tonight Show, Seth Meyers assuming Fallon's former post at Late Night, David Letterman announcing his retirement from Late Show, CBS choosing Stephen Colbert to replace David Letterman at Late Show, Comedy Central selecting Larry Willmore to take over Stephen Colbert's 11:30pm time slot, and Jimmy Kimmel re-upping for two more years at ABC. Plus John Oliver leaving The Daily Show to start his own thing at HBO and Chelsea Handler prepping to leave E!.
