    Hey Coco-heads,

I'm just starting this thread --which fulfills a similar purpose to the one in the TTSwCOB forum-- to get the ball rolling. As everyone knows by now, the first show is Monday, Max Weinberg has left the house band, and there will bea new theme song. Now it's just a question of whether Conan will keep the beard...

    Later, Stu

I find it weird that last night's episode included an American Express commercial featuring Conan O'Brien. I find it weird that it was followed with a commercial for Glory Daze featuring Andy Richter. I also find it weird that the American Express commercial also aired during last night's Daily Show.

I'm surprised all the guests are promoting projects that are going to be released in the future.

Im not surprised at all really. He and Tom Hanks are really good friends and he wanted him on as one of the first guests, same w/ Seth Rogen. Hanks promoted the same movie at the end of The Tonight Show. Im sure hed want Will Ferrell on too to promote Megamind but Ive heard Ferrell is in Europe promoting it right now.

Personally, I can't wait to see more of our beloved recurring characters. With Zucker out of the picture, NBC-Comcast might be more willing to give Conan and the creative talent most of their "intellectual property" back. We've already seen Masturbating Bear, now who's next?

^^Yeah, good point. I hope to see Triumph eventually and Brian McCann always does get characters, like S&M Lincoln, but we didnt see him on TTS so I dont know whether we'd see it on 'Conan' either. I think itll be primarily new characters and remotes, like Late Night was, with an occasional old character here and there. Im really enjoying this new show. I feel like it has the freedom of Late Night mixed with the professionalism of TTS.

Yeah, I'd like to see old bits return.

Couldn't If They Mated finally return? He hasn't done that since like 2008.

I also love the bits where Conan is out and about. But seems like those were much more fascinating in NYC than LA.

Is anyone getting worried about Conan's ratings? I knew he would lose a fair chunk of viewers by moving to basic cable, and even then the numbers for the first two months do look somewhat underwhelming.

^I dont really worry/look at ratings for any show but in this case, he seems to be doing okay and TBS is really happy to have him so Im not as concerened as I would be with say NBC. I think the show is still trying to find its groove between gaining new members w/ new skits and keeping the old ones with previous skits without seeming like hes just trying to copy Late Night or something. Theyll get it eventually, even Late Night was on the brink of cancellation practically every day for the first 3 years of its life.

God I wish it were possible to see "The Interruptor" again - that was awesome..
The show needs more skits, but they are expensive:/

Brian Stack (the man who plays him) occasionally reprises him on the LA improv scene. Too bad there's no cameras.

His show is barely getting by

He's losing to Chelsea Lately in the Ratings.

Just watched Conan's officiating at the wedding of his male staff member to someone of his gender. Pretty touching and funny especially when Will Forte as Ted Turner pushed them off on a bronco!
