Chances are that the majority of Conan O'Brien fans are not also wrestling fans so they had to learn who Sheamus was by hearing Conan describe. The segment did get over pretty well with the crowd so I guess it was a success. While I doubt that it will increase WWE PPV buys for Summerslam any way it was a fun little segment that worked and exposed Conan's fans to a new kind of guest.
The monologue was pretty disastrous though. It ran for too long, about 13 minutes too long, to be honest, but I think I only laughed at one or two lines during the thing. That is not a good start to the program.moreless
