Conquest

Show Summary

Whether it's ancient combat or modern sports, Conquest issues a challenge to host Peter Woodward to conquer a highly unusual array of skills. Woodward's body and mind are repeatedly challenged as he pits himself against the masters of various disciplines, in tests ranging from the medieval tournament to the demolition derby; from weird weapons of the Middle Ages to bull riding and knights in plate armor.

  • Dudes hittin' each other with old weaponry... count me in!

If you've even wondered about how "they" fought, this is the show for you. It's depth and intensiveness is awesome. Peter Woodward is the perfect host with his knowledge of ancient weaponry all the way up to his British accent. The fast pace and sharp humor masks the fact that you are learning a large amount of information, so it's still fun to watch.

But who are "they"? Well, pretty much anyone you can think of. Before the show was cancelled, a plethre of subjects were covered. Medevial swordfighting, axefighting, and archery was covered. Three Musketeer style and conventional dueling was covered. Early firearms? You got it. pirate combat? Yep. Gladiator contests? Need I continue?

All in all, this show is great for everyone from those acually curious about the subject matter, to the casual passerby with nothing better to do.moreless
