Conspiracy Council

Show Summary

Conspiracy Council is a documentary series from the SyFy Network that turns an actor and comedian into a conspiracy theorist, trying to prove or discredit some famous unexplained theories. Richard Belzer takes a look at the inconceivable by exploring some dark rumors in American society. Belzer invites guest conspiracists and special investigators to present their evidence to a council whose assignment is to accredit or discredit the theories. The Conspiracy Council consists of a live studio audience and the audience at home, who decide the conspiracist's validity by voting in the studio, online, thorough SMS text messaging or by calling a toll-free number. The season opens with Belzer presenting viewers with the facts and rumors of President John F. Kennedy's assassination. Cameras then focus on guest conspiracist, Michael T. Griffith, who gives his version of what really happened. A voting meter appears midway through the show, summing the results as the guest's presentation continues. By the end of the night, the Conspiracy Council gives its final decision on the matter. The show focuses on a variety of conspiracies as the season progresses, including the death of Elvis Presley and UFO sightings in America.
