Inspector Kiera Cameron finds herself in the year 2012 after a group of terrorists attempt to escape execution by travelling back in time. Keira must now stop the terrorists' reign of violence, and find a way back to her family, in 2077. Adopting a new identity, Keira joins the VPD and befriends 17 year old Alec Sadler, who will one day come to create the technology her world is built on.

When her cover is blown and she is arrested by VPD officer Carlos Fonnegra, Keira's attempts at apprehending the fugitive members of Liber8 are severely hindered. But when she discovers that Liber8 are devising a plan to take them back to 2077, she must escape capture and ally herself with her sworn enemies, if she has any hope of ever getting back home.

A series of mysterious murders in which victims have been drained of endocrine fluid lead Keira and Carlos back to Liber8, as they attempt to save their leader, Travis. Meanwhile, Liber8 member Kellog delivers Keira a gift in an attempt to make truce, a gift that puts hers and Carlo's lives in danger, and could result in Kellog's expulsion from the terrorists' group.
moreless - 6/17/12The murder of a scientist working on developing a source of clean energy forces Keira to make a difficult choice - do the right thing or preserve the future. Meanwhile, Edouard Kagame arrives in 2012 and Kiera and Carlos are determined to find him before Liber8.
- 6/24/12Liber8's agenda changes with the return of Kagame, abandoning violence in favor of blending in and promoting their revolution through existing structures. But they are still at risk of failing through the possibility that they may cease to exist if their ancestors are murdered. An experiment is devised to test this theory, using Kiera and her grandmother as the test subjects.moreless
- 7/8/12Kagame pursues step one of his new agenda - win the intellectuals and the grass roots dissenters. When the CEO of a major corporation is kidnapped by Liber8, Kiera and Carlos have to race a literal ticking clock in order to save the CEO from having the public extract their pound of flesh.moreless

Carlos investigates the murder of a woman he slept with. Carlos doesn't tell anyone about the murder. Martin is running for election as the head of the local dock workers union. Alec tries to fix Kiera's suit and gets a lead on the killer. She also finds that the piece of the time travel device is missing and knows Kellogg has to be the one who took it.
moreless - 7/22/12Kiera's system short circuits. Liber8 tries to take control of her, while she is in a bad state. Alec saves Kiera from killing her partner. At the same time, Liber8 discovers who is behind Kiera.

Kiera and Carlos are made aware ofa bulk purchase of potential explosives which turns into a dangerous standoff.
- 8/5/12Kiera gets wind of a plot to bomb a significant corporate target, but that's the least of her worries. When Alec finds out one of his own extended family has been recruited to Liber8, before he can warn Kiera, Kagame and company kidnap their arch-enemy's enabler in the present.
