  • The Set-Up Is Fleshed Out

    8.0
This episode is strictly fleshing out the pilot as to settling in to the meat of the series. We get special agent Cameron who we are to believe going forward will work hand in hand with the police to bring the terrorists down. Now the possibilities are infinitely more open. So the next few episodes are a must to see what evolves. The action is high again here. Barely a wasted frame in building things yet to come at this point.moreless
  • Amazing!

    10
I didn't like the second episode quite as much as the premiere pilot episode, but it was only a fraction behind. The storyline was once again great, and the events that took place were interesting as well!

I also enjoy the occasional glimpses into Keira's life in the future in 2077 - they add a lot into her character's development.

A lot of interesting events - won't spoil anything - but I definitely look forward to the next episode! This show is great!moreless

    • Carlos: Oh, don't act like you've never been handcuffed to an elevator before.

    • Carlos: Are you even a cop?
      Kiera: Yes.
Carlos: Then you could have told me.
Kiera: That I share the same name as another detective named Linda Williams?
Carlos: Oh, yeah. What are the odds?
Kiera: 1.7 million Williams's at the time of the 2000 census.
Alec: (through Kiera's CMR) It's the third most common name in America.
Kiera: It's the third most common name in America.

    • Alec: You seem to know a lot about these people.
Kiera: Not them personally, people like them. Men and women who hate and kill to impose their views on anyone that disagrees with them.

    • (Kiera holds a gun on Sonya and another on Travis)
Kiera: Dr. Fraser, the sequence has begun. Is there any way to stop it?
Dr. Fraser: There's an emergency override.
      (Kiera shoots it)
Kiera: Is there any other way to cut the power?
Dr. Fraser: Not until the cycle's complete.
      Kiera: Excellent. You may go.
(Travis points a gun at Dr. Fraser)
Travis: Uh, he's not going anywhere.
Kiera: I just added sparing him to the terms of our ceasefire.
      Sonya: What ceasefire?
Kiera: Along with some discretion? Just until we get where we're going.
      Travis: We?
Curtis: Bitch cop wants to come with us.
      Kiera: Bitch cop does.

    • Kiera: (looking at herself) I look great.
      Alec: Yeah, you do.
      Kiera: Boundaries, Alec.
      Alec: As a cop.
Kiera: My CMR's for business only.
Alec: Why did you say that if you didn't want me to hear it?
Kiera: Sometimes I get nervous in social situations and I talk to myself. We'll figure it out. We're both new at this.

    • Alec: Are you upset?
Kiera: I have a husband and a son. And right now I'm confronting the possibility that I may not make it back to them.
Alec: I can't imagine how that must feel.
Kiera: The only thing that's going to get me through this is finding a way to believe that my being here is for a reason. That what I'm doing will somehow help my family in the future while I'm here in the present.
      Alec: Sounds reasonable.
