Great episode! It's bitter-sweet knowing the next episode is the finale and I have to wait another year. You guys should do more episodes per season. 18-22? Just saying. great show either way! keep up the good work and Thanks..

  • So intense!

This was a really intriguing episode as the line between good and bad is blurred once more. So many interesting scenes - everything from the events of the protest to the events in interrogation to these mysterious freelancers making a play.

This Escher character is really interesting and mysterious too. I wonder what his aims are. Is he really from the future beyond 2077?

What more to say and write other than to call this episode amazing! Can't wait for hte next one!moreless
  • Kiera Cameron is the BAD guy yet again,

    8.0
If you read my detailed analysis and opinion of Kiera Cameron in the comments section for the last episode of Continuum, (S02E09 - Seconds) you will see that I am now CONVINCED that Kiera is the bad guy in this show and Liber8 are fighting a just and moral war to prevent the corporate dictatorship of the future.

Again, in this episode, Kiera demonstrated more of her mindless thuggish violence while interrogating Liber8's Jasmine Garza. If this is how they question people in the future, why on earth is this women trying to save that future. Let me guess, so she can selfishly be reunited with her son, even if it screws over the rest of humanity. If I'm honest, I actually think her son is probably a lot better off without her in his life if this is the type of person she is.

What I find most disturbing about the fact that Kiera is actually the bad guy, is the fact that a lot of viewers will be cheering her on, regardless of her corrupt, selfish and immoral motives and decisions. A lot of viewers will see her actions and honestly think they are justified and right, just because she is a cop from the future. I don't think many viewers will think about the big picture and see the type of disgusting, immoral society she is fighting for. Just like in Continuum, a lot of TV shows are starting to have violent and oppressive protagonists where the shows attempt to justify bad behavior as if the ends justify the means. Let's all hope that these trends don't start to become excepted in real society because it does SEEM as if the media is conditioning their audiences into this twisted mindset.

Lets ALL hope the day never arrives when cops can shoot pet dogs in front of the community, or when cops can brutally attack peaceful protesters, or when an armed adult can shoot a black kid and get away with it... lets all hope this day never arrives.

Don't even get me started on the amount of propaganda that comes through my television set to glorify corporations and corporate agendas. Continuum fits PERFECTLY into this trend. In fact, I would go so far as to say that continuum has shown us the society that we are heading towards today. A society that I imagine looks like a utopia to the corporate elite that control our governments today. To me it looks like hell on earth and if, like me, you think that its a realistic prospect, then we should ALL be fighting to prevent it from happening just like the fictional Liber8. I don't agree with violence but I do believe in mass NONE COMPLIANCE. The corporations need us more than we need them.

Anyway, next time you watch Continuum and you see the supposed 'HERO' protagonist, try not to empathize with Kiera because she IS the antagonist if you consider the bigger picture. I'd also say that Alec is a bad guy too but at the moment he is still innocent. Well, he's innocent in his own immoral IGNORANCE because he is helping Kiera, even though he see's her appalling behavior. Also, Alec is still working to develop that technology which will probably turn everyone into a corporate slave. If he wasn't so ignorant, he would pack away all of his computers and live a quite peaceful life considering he is already aware of his so called destiny. I mean, why take the risk and STILL try to develop that oppressive technology. He must be an idiot.

Finally, as much as I'm slagging off the characters, I do enjoy watching Continuum each week because it has challenged my philosophy. I just hope the writers are making Kiera the bad girl and Liber8 look like the good guys for a reason that will be revealed. I am SO MUCH hoping that the writers don't expect us to keep supporting Kiera after everything we have seen. I will honestly be astounded if they expect us to support her motives and her actions to fight for such an oppressive nightmarish corporate future.

    Do you agree with me?moreless
  • Where's it all heading...

    8.0
I still love this show, but beginning to wonder where it's all headed.

I'm finding I have less and less sympathy for Keira with each passing episode. Earlier in the series she did a lot of soul searching to decide The Right Thing To Do when confronted with differences between what she believe was true and the mounting evidence that all is (or won't be) what it seems, and the lines between good and bad get increasingly blurred.

The "baddies" are increasing portrayed as being justified in the reasons for what they're doing (if not the methods), whereas Keira seems to have stopped thinking about it all and decided that stepping over to the dark side and doing Whatever It Takes to maintain the (future) status quo is justified.

I've gotta believe the writers have a plan for resolving all this, but I can't figure out what it is. Watch this space (and time) :)
