Romeo's house is in the middle of New York City, yet it is surrounding by trees with a huge portion of land. That is a ton of money in the big city. The only place with that much land in the middle of the city is Central Park, but homes are not allowed to be built there... so where exactly does Romeo live in NYC?

During Corniel's IQ testing, he is put through a simple maze where blue coloured arrows lead to the right path, and red leads to a dead end.
However, since dogs are colourblind, Corniel should not have been able to recognise this.

The scientist determines that Corneil must be capable of speaking due to his score on the IQ test. Because of this, Corneil rigs the machine to avoid further hints of his secret. However, he is given a good score on the next test. There is no indication of the machine being fixed.
