A big airshow is on nearby and the people of Dog River are very excited. But Lacey's breach of airshow protocol has many in town upset. Thankfully with the help of the Snowbirds, Lacey almost manages to make things right. Meanwhile, business at Brent's gas station hits an unexpected snag while Hank's new corn stand scheme exceeds all expectations. And after a rash of vandalism, Karen and Davis take to the streets on bikes to do some face-to-face community policing. But Karen is oddly reluctant.moreless
  • Lacey's still trying to fit in (and failing); Brent's life gets turned upside-down.

Another week in Dog River, and we have our three storylines: a health inspector comes to the Corner Gas and shuts it down.leaving the Brent and Wanda fighting over a job at Hank's corn stand. We also have the new police initiative to get closer to the people, and this is accomplished by putting the two officers on bicycles. The scenes with Karen trying to avoid riding a bicycle are truly classic.
But the main story line this week is the air show, featuring the Snowbirds. Lacey shows her lack of Dog River spirit by not only not going to the air show, but she also stays open ~during~ the air show.

This episode continues Lacey's quest to fit in, and failing to do so without understanding just why she's failing. Will she ever really 'get' Dog River? Or will she always be the outsider? Even when she does something outstanding, as in this episode, she still doesn't get the recognition that she craves for it. This was a good, solid episode, but probably could have benefitted from more scenes with Oscar in them!moreless

    • Hank: I'm getting a new stereo system. Something loud. Something state of the art. Brent: Something cheap. Hank: Hey, I'll get money. I take care of this truck. Brent: Is that why there's smoke billowing out of the hood?

    • (discussing a spray-painted wall) Fitzy: You have to combat this rash of vandalism. Karen: Rash? It's one thing. Fitzy: Somebody knocked over the mailbox! Karen: That was three years ago!

    • Oscar: There you go, Lacey's against the air show. Lacey: I'm not against the air show, I just didn't know there was an air show. Oscar: What do you have against the airplane? It's man's greatest invention! Lacey: I thought that was the wheel. Oscar: Airplanes have wheels, don't they?

    • Lacey: Hey! How was the airshow? Oscar: Oh! It was a treat! The Red Baron was there! Emma: Ugh.. I told you that was not the Red Baron! Oscar: It was A red baron. The plane's red, the guy's a baron. That's the rule.
