Another fine episode of Corner Gas; in this, the first episode of season two, we see a conclusion to the "cliffhanger" of season one -- the Brent/Lacey relationship. There's also the problem of mysterious shots being fired near town that Davis and Karen have to investigate; and Oscar wants to buy an outboard motor.
As with many of the episodes, the storylines aren't really connected, although there is one minor connection between the Oscar storyline and the Davis/Karen storyline, and that link, small though it might be, is quite funny. It's like a joke that takes 20 minutes to set up, all for a one-line pay-off. But it ~is~ humourous. The Brent & Lacey storyline exists on its own, and is probably the best of the three, especially when Lacey decides that the ladies of Dog River have 'adapted.' But even Lacey accepts what she can't change in the end, and learns to live, leaving Brent forever outside her reach.
This episode was the first one that I ever saw, and was an excellent introduction to the series. It certainly left me wanting to watch more of the series, and curious as to what I'd missed in the first season. All in all, this episode comes highly recommended.
