Owen stands by Chris and when Lloyd tells Cheryl what happened, he's forced to apologise for interfering. How will Cheryl react? Audrey & Lewis are back from Greece . They've found a place they love and plan to move quickly. When Audrey reveals she's taken a loan out against her house for £100K and will be leaving next week, Gail's deeply concerned. Graeme pops in to check on Tina, en route to his date with Rosie, and is worried to find her in a state. The police have told her she can't refuse to testify. Insisting he's there for her Graeme stands up Rosie while he tries to sort Tina out. His work finally done he rushes into the pub to finds an irate Rosie. Slamming out she insists it was his one chance and he's blown it. Graeme's gutted. Hayley fumes when Roy announces he's going to a train convention, spending money on his hobby after putting a dampener on hers. Impressed by her spirit Carla asks Izzy to apply for the machinists job. She passes the sewing test easily and the job's hers. Kirk's thrilled too when Carla offers him a temporary position packing. But when she jumps down Liz's throat accusing her of talking down to her, then bosses him into applying for the machinist's job at Underworld, Kirk wonders what he's getting himself into. Fearing the worst, he follows them and is stunned to see the car wreckage. Kevin and Tyrone watch on helplessly as Molly's cut from the wreckage and rushed into an ambulance. At the hospital, Kevin admits that he hadn't finished the brakes but before Tyrone can react, he's taken to see his wife. Molly's still unconscious and while a scan confirms that their baby is still alive, Tyrone's distraught to hear that as long as his wife's life hangs in the balance, her unborn baby's life remains at stake. Terrified at the prospect of losing both his wife and what he presumes to be his child, Tyrone cries on Kevin's shoulder. Meanwhile, after confiding in Sunita about the person she loves rejecting her, Sophie decides to take her advice and let Sian go. Calling Lee, Sophie arranges a date but it's clear that her heart's really not in it. Cheryl finds Lloyd in the cab office and apologises for being standoffish the previous day, explaining that she hates people knowing what she does. As the pair chat, their chemistry is apparent.     Peter's determined to turn over a new leaf and Leanne really wants to believe that he can. Peter calls at George and Eve's house, hoping to take Simon to school but George doesn't trust him and ushers Simon into his own car. On Ken's suggestion, Leanne persuades Peter to go with her to No. 1 for a cup of tea on the pretense that Simon will be there. However, Peter arrives to find George, Ken and Deirdre - but no Simon. He's furious that he's been duped by his own family. Meanwhile in the Lakes, David and Gail pack the car ready to leave without Joe. Concerned about the situation himself, David ensures that his mother knows the implication of her actions - if she's not going to report Joe's disappearance to the police, then she'd better get her story straight as to his whereabouts. With that, there's a hairy moment when a police officer turns up at the cottage to enquire about a stolen motor boat. Gail and David feign ignorance and the unsuspecting officer helps David fix Joe's boat to the tow-bar. As they prepare to leave, David hands Gail an envelope addressed to her in Joe's handwriting, which he found in the cottage. Gail pockets it, saying that she'll open it later. Elsewhere, Sunita's aged aunts Grishma and Upma arrive early at the house. Panicking, Sunita has no choice but to pretend that she and Dev are still married. Dev enjoys the ruse and offers to run Grishma and Upma back to their hotel but they explain that they haven't booked a hotel as they were hoping to stay with them.     Gail looks out over the watery expanse of the lake, desperately hoping to see Joe - but there's no sign. In a state of panic, she phones David and insists that he catch a train up to the Lakes as soon as possible. Worried - and sensing the desperation in Gail's voice - David agrees and a short while later, he arrives at the cottage where a distraught Gail fills him in on what's happened. David suggests that they go to the police but Gail refuses, sure that Joe's gone ahead with his plan to fake his death and will soon return when he comes to his senses. Intent on covering their tracks, Gail and David sail across the lake to drag Joe's boat back to the jetty. Still holding out hope, Gail insists on spending another night in the cottage in the hope Joe could return. Despite thinking she's crazy, David has no choice but to stay with her. Meanwhile, Peter apologises to Leanne for going on another bender and promises to sort himself out. Leanne's skeptical, while an upset Simon wants to know when he can see his dad again. George, however, remains evasive. George turns up at the bookies to talk to Peter about Simon but it soon becomes clear that he's been drinking again and a row ensues. Leanne tells Peter that he needs serious help but he won't listen to reason. Not knowing what else to do, Leanne turns to Ken for support and they agree that they have to get Peter into rehab. Elsewhere, Sunita tells Dev that her aged aunts will be staying - but they still think she's married to him! Meanwhile, George and Eve are shocked at Peter's behaviour and offer to look after Simon for the night. Leanne's grateful and heads home to wait for an inebriated Peter. A tearful Leanne blames herself for ever thinking that the bar was a good idea, prompting Peter to realise what a mess he's made of everything. Testing the water back at home, Peter suggests to an alarmed Leanne that he feels he could have the occasional drink. Meanwhile, Claire gives Becky a pregnancy book. Becky's clearly terrified by the prospect but having decided to keep the baby, she tells a delighted Steve that she's nine weeks' pregnant, meaning that the baby is due in August. Betty's 90th birthday party takes place in The Rovers but she's put out when an old lady called Enid Crump turns up, claiming that she's the oldest barmaid in the North-West at the ripe old age of 91. The doctor does some tests and tells a relieved Dev and Sunita that Asha is showing no signs of meningitis and just has a virus. After the doctor has gone Matt and Sunita row about the fact that Sunita called Dev before Matt. Gary's party at the Rovers is a lively affair with more than a few raised eyebrows at the themed cake Eddie has baked. David decides to continue with the army gags and manages to stick a target onto Gary's back his joke backfires though when Anna gets upset about the dangers her son is going to face in the army. Eddie meanwhile is proud of his son - so much so that he breaks the habit of a lifetime and buys a drink for everyone in the pub!! Sally has come round from the operation and is even managing to crack a few jokes. Meanwhile the factory girls give Kevin and Rosie the present they have bought and Sian and Sophie bury the hatchet. However the day takes a disturbing turn for Kevin when Molly and Tyrone come round to see him and managing to catch a few moments alone with him Molly makes a shocking announcement.moreless

    Sally is in hospital preparing for her operation and despite trying her best to put a brave face on it she tells Kevin that she is terrified she will have to have a mastectomy and what Kevin will think of her. Feeling guilty an emotional Kevin tells her she will always be beautiful to him and apologises to Sally for not being there for her when she was going through the ordeal alone, but is he really apologising for much more than that? Back at the factory the girls are feeling awful for the things they have been saying about Sally and decides to start a collection. Kelly refuses to be a hypocrite however and shocks the others with her attitude. Anna has finally persuaded Gary to have a farewell party before he leaves for basic training and is emotional as she starts to arrange everything. Eddie meanwhile is dealing with his worries in his own way - by writing a letter to his son. Dev is still on a high following the twins' birthday party and is pleased when Sunita calls but his pleasure soon turns to concern when she tells him that Asha is ill. He races round to the house where Sunita tells him she fears their daughter has got meningitis and they call the doctor. Dev can't help but feel pleased however that Sunita called him to the house and not Matt.     It is the day before Sally's operation and she wants some sense of normality - Rosie is happy to oblige with her inane chatter about a breast enhancement. Later in Underworld the mystery of Sally's time off rears its head again and Carla intervenes to stop the girls bullying Sally but when their comments are overheard in the street by Rosie she can't keep quiet and follows them to the Rovers to have a go at them. Realising where Rosie has gone Sally follows just in tie to hear her telling the girls that her mum is going for an operation. How will Sally's colleagues react when she reveals the truth about her time off work? One person in the pub manages to keep quiet about the fact that she has known about Sally's illness for some time - and Tyrone is oblivious to his wife's subterfuge as he takes in the shocking news. Dev is nervous about throwing the twins birthday party at the flat but Jesse promises to help guide him through it. The event goes off without a hitch, apart from Jesse feeling that his new assistant Sean stole the show! Sunita is delighted with the lengths that Dev has gone to and Matt is left feeling decidedly sidelined. Joe brings up the subject of life insurance with Gail but she reminds him that it is not something they can afford with the state of their finances. Later however Joe retrieves some paper that Gail has been practicing her new signature on - what is he up to? When Peter turns him down, Joe resorts to asking Ted for £4,000 so he can 'put a deposit on a flat for him and Gail'. Ted's taken in by Joe's lie and gladly hands over the cash. Joe later meets Rick and gives him the money - but will it be enough to appease him for the day? Meanwhile, Ken and Peter are still trying to be civil and agree that Simon go to the Barlows' for tea later in the day. George turns up and asks Peter again about letting him pay for Simon to go to private school. Peter agrees to consider it but isn't aware that Simon's overheard the exchange. Later at the Barlows' Simon tells Ken about George's offer, prompting a furious Ken to go and have it out with George! Tyrone's anxious as he waits to see if he's bagged the job at the garage in Chester - even though he's not entirely convinced that he'll even take it if he's successful. When he finally receives the call, he's not sure what to do. Molly suggests that they talk it over with Jack. Elsewhere, Liz wants to know who'll be looking after the bar that evening -a question that leads to another row between Becky and Steve.     Sally goes to the hospital to discuss her operation with the surgeon. There, Sally's informed that her lumpectomy is booked for the following week. The surgeon goes on to explains the different treatment that she may need thereafter. Back at home, Kevin and Sally admit that they're both scared but vow to remain positive and wait to see what treatment she'll need before breaking the news to the girls. Meanwhile, Joe's a man on the edge - he knows that he needs to find the money for Rick but is rapidly running out of option. Rick, however, decides to apply more pressure and asks an oblivious Tina to show him around her flat on the pretext that he's interested in buying. When Joe realises that Tina's on her own in the flat with Rick, he begins panics - has Joe put his own daughter at risk? Liz is becoming increasingly fed up with Steve and Becky as they've left her looking after both Amy and the pub yet again. Liz eventually manages track down Becky, who agrees to return home. However, when an inebriated Steve rolls in, Becky tells him to find somewhere else to sleep. Elsewhere, Dev returns to Sunita's with the twins after a great day out and insists that he's committed to being a good father and is no longer seeing Bernie.     Kevin's still struggling to come to terms with Sally's illness, while Sally is putting on a brave face, insisting that she'll go undertake with whatever treatment the specialist recommends. Gail, meanwhile, is busy preparing for the wedding and even the news that Sarah can't make it due to illness doesn't dampen her spirits. Gail's made up when Audrey offers to send her and Joe on honeymoon and even begins suggesting potential hairstyles for the big day. Joe's also looking forward to the ceremony but is perturbed when Rick the debt collector calls him. With the house sold, Joe's confident that he'll be able to settle what he owes. However, when Gail reveals that the house sale has fallen through, he despairs. With that, a furious Rick makes it very clear that he'll stop at nothing to ensure Joe pays up. Relations are still strained at The Rovers and Liz is worried that Becky and Steve's constant sniping is beginning to affect Amy. Later, Becky pours her heart out to Roy and Hayley, insisting that she'll never change her mind about having children, no matter how much Steve pleads with her. Elsewhere, Molly's pleased when Tyrone informs her that he's been invited for an interview at a garage in Chester. Molly thinks that it's a fantastic opportunity but Tyrone - completely oblivious to Molly's positive reaction - isn't convinced. Also, Peter's still angry over Ken's petition plans but relents and invites him to collect Simon from school. Ken's not best pleased though, when George also turns up. Peter attempts to maintain the peace by insisting that Simon can have tea at the Barlows'. Peter heads to the pub with George but is surprised by the proposition that George puts to him.moreless

He's charming from the moment he turns up and as the evening goes on, Audrey almost forgets that he's a paid escort. He manages to lift her spirits to such an extent that on the way home, she calls in at Joe and Gail's with a surprising offer. Dev realises that he wants to get back with Sunita and become a real family again with the kids. He makes a New Year's resolution to make it happen. Both Becky and Steve are left wondering if getting hitched without having discussed such fundamental issues was a big mistake. Sophie's disappointed that Sian broke their vow of chastity and slept with Ryan. Michelle, meanwhile, is more concerned about Ryan takes the right precautions - she might have been a young mum but she's certainly not ready to become a grandma! Meanwhile, Dev visits Sunita and tries to build some bridges with her and Matt. Sunita begins to thaw a little and she asks Dev if he wants to have the children on Monday. Dev gratefully accepts.
