Cougar Town

Three episodes into Cougar Town and the show is still familiarly unfunny. The show just has this weird aura about it, it's like it's trying to be Desperate Housewives, just with Cox as some Gaby/Susan hybrid of trying to sleep with younger men, yet being clumsy in the process.



I think people want to like this show, and it does have something about it that keeps drawing viewers in, but this is far, far from being a good program right now. The supporting cast needs to step up and learn how to be funny or this show won't last past a second season.

I felt that this episode was a big step back from the first two, which were much better. I thought that this episode was not at all funny, and I didn't enjoy it too much, and I also found the storyline in this episode to be very weak and unenjoyable.



I think that there were some good moments fomr the episode, but they were vastly outnumbered by the boring part of the episode, and I was very disappointed.



I still think the show has great potential, but I wouldn't recommend this episode, as I found it to be extremely boring. I hope it improves by the next week.

Yes, this episode was better than last week's.. but I'm still having a hard time enjoying watching cougars hunt for younger guys to have sex with. Courtney Cox is a funny actress and she can pull off most of the jokes, but the actress who plays Barbara? I peg her at about mid fifties and she's talking about her reconstructive downstairs surgery? That's one thing I don't need to hear.



There was definitely some parts that made me laugh.. Ellie playing the beat of "We Didn't Start The Fire" on her husband's butt, and it was pretty funny when Andy showed up with Travis and Bobby on his boat ("Jealous Much?" Such a stupid name for a boat, which is what makes it funny I suppose) and they started doing shirtless air guitar to an awful 80's song.



Overall, the show certainly hasn't had the same impact that The Middle and Modern Family had on me, but it's definitely something to do at 9:30 at night when you're bored out of your mind. I guess until Lost returns, Cougar Town is my time filler.

Jules is such a nice gal that she can't say no to anyone. Basically we start to understand what has been happening to her for most of her life. She is an enabler. When a friend has a problem she drops everything to help them no matter how trite. When her ex-husband falls down in his parenting he expects her to jump into save him. It seems to happen especially when she is having time for herself.



She and Nick get together and she looks great, but she is so worn out and keyed up that she doesn't enjoy herself and therefore neither does Nick. What she forgot about young men though is OK is usually good enough so the next night he's back to see her again and upset that she didn't call him. This time she does things her way and Nick is blown away.



While she is trying to make things good for her and Nick, she is fooling with her neighbor Grayson. He has a new girlfriend named Candee, yes with two ee's. She warns him that if he doesn't change his ways he'll run out of young women. Over the next few days Candee drives him crazy.



Bobby has a reclaimed boat that is in dry dock and he is doing everything he can to embarrass Travis. Ellie thinks she's having trouble bonding with her baby. Finally Laurie's boyfriend the ex-con and she are on again off again.



Another fun episode of Cougar Town and this show is still getting excellent numbers. I'm pretty sure this will continue for the season. Thanks for reading...

I guess things are falling together for Cougar Town. Though Bill Lawrence is still not able to weave the same magic as he did in Scrubs, I guess episode 3 is a positive step in that direction.



I am actually happy this episode actually succeeded in creating a well pieced 21 minute story line. Though it wasn't as funny or even remotely funny as it is intended to be, I must admit it was quite entertaining. However, gross depictions of the female anatomy and hair growth areas should have been kept to a minimum. The guy in Bobby's character can't really act - is it too late to ask for a replacement?
