Cougar Town

When they wanted to put Jules father in the hospital, we can see the names of the doctors: Dorian, Reid and Turk. They have the same names as the doctors on Scrubs series.

Goof:When Bobby and Andy are sitting on the roof, Jules suddenly appears seated next to Bobby and she is barefoot. A few seconds later she has shoes on when she tells Bobby she is "still not feeling zippy." She then stands up to leave and is barefoot again and begins talking to Ellie below in the driveway. When she decides to use the zip line to beat Ellie to Laurie she is once again wearing shoes.

This was an 1 hour long episode.

Abed (Danny Pudi) from Community appears in the finale episode of Cougar Town. In Community he is a huge fan of the show.

Goof: Sam Lloyd appears as Ted Buckland, his character from the 2001 TV show Scrubs. His character has the same history, shown when he says that he was dating a girl named Gooch. However, both Christa Miller (Ellie) and Courteney Cox (Jules) had appearances on Scrubs as different characters. Christa Miller had a recurring guest role as Jordan Sullivan and Courteney Cox appeared in 3 episodes as Dr. Taylor Maddox.

Danny Pudi, star of the TV show Community, makes a cameo appearance in the scene where Travis and Laurie sit at a Subway restaurant. The scene ends with Pudi jumping up from his table and running away. Conversely, there has been repeated references to Cougar Town in Community. Firstly, the character Abed (played by Danny Pudi) expresses his love for Cougar Town in the episode Critical Film Studies (Season 2, Episode 19). In this episode he explains that he got invited to the set of Cougar Town and while there the director suggested that he would "jump into the background of this scene". In the scene though he starts to panic and wants to "turn and run". In the Community episode For a Few Paintballs More (Season 2, Episode 24) the stars of Cougar Town Busy Philipps and Dan Byrd make a short cameo.

Librarian: Would you ladies like to say something?
Jules: I didn't prepare anything. But... (To class) I grew up in the hood, ya'll. My best friend JoJo got shot in the face. It should've been me. But reading got me out.

Courteney Cox's daughter Coco has a small cameo as a student in the class Jules volunteers at.

In the opening scene, the can the guys are using to play "Penny Can" is labeled "Bobby Cobb Original Competition Penny Can".

When Grayson reveals the Jam Room to Jules, Jules says Travis' name when she's trying to convince Grayson that Travis is coming home after college. She probably meant to say Grayson's name.

Another explanation: When she said Travis's name at the second time, she meant to say "you know, it's Travis" (and you can hear that in her voice)...

The jam session in the episode was based on a real life jam that happened at a party at Jimmy Kimmel's house where Courtney Cox played the drums. Show creator Bill Lawrence who was also at the party decided to write it in.

When the gang are outside saying goodbye to Travis, Andy is clearly holding a dummy that is supposed to be a sleeping baby Stan.

The picture of "Jules" and Bruce Springsteen that Travis points out in her Jules's yearbook is a real photo from Courtney Cox dancing in Bruce Springsteen's music video for "Dancing in the Dark".

The College that Travis picks is the same place that Scrubs (Med School) season 9 was filmed on location shots.

According to her driver's license, Ellie was born on 2/14/1975,which would make her 35.

Goof. After the motorcycle scene Jules black shoes are to be seen for a short moment. As Jules returns to her home the shoes worn by her differ in the size of the heels.

In the kitchen when Andy says Ellie is still in bed, we see a flash back to Andy talking to Ellie the night before. In the first cut to Ellie her glasses are tilted on an angle down on the left hand side of her face. In the next cut back to her they are tilted down on the right hand side of her face.

When Travis comes in to tell Jules and Bobby that he has lost his virginity, Jules and Bobby are watching Scrubs. Scrubs is another creation of Cougar Town creator, Bill Lawrence.

Christa Miller-Lawrence, who plays Ellis Torres, was a regular on Scrubs as well and is married to Bill Lawrence.

Courteney Cox has appeared in Scrubs as well for 3 episodes.

At 04:50 during the conversation between Bobby and Andy, the sounds of crows crowing can be heard in the background. The sound clip used is the same one used during the title card of The Middle, another ABC comedy.
