Country Kitchen

Show Summary

Country Kitchen is a cooking show hosted by a well-known southern American actress. The Nashville Network follows America's favorite TV mom, Florence Henderson, as she travels through the back roads of the Deep South to find the nation's best-kept secret family recipes. Florence heads to Greensville, AL in the first episode to talk to a 90-year-old resident, Elsie Burkman, about her top-secret Hot Corn Dip sauce. The host also shows up in New Orleans to get pointers from Chef Alex Foreman as he makes his Creole Meatball Po'boy. Boiled peanuts and fried catfish appear on the show's menu after Florence decides to go fishing with pro-fisherman Dale Williams from Lakewood, TN. Country Kitchen profiles famous southern chefs throughout the series, including Evette Brady from Arkansas, who makes her famous biscuits with honey and Louisiana's John Folse, who gives audiences his seafood gumbo recipe. As Florence continues further south, people who hardly ever see film crews in their hometown welcome her with open arms, giving her their family food secrets from 200 years ago.
