I was horribly confused when I bought the entire Coupling series on DVD; Oliver was on the front but I had only ever seen Season 2. I was like "God, Jeff looks a bit odd..." Not in an ugly way, of course, just different. I thought they'd used a funny camera angle or something.

Can you believe one season of a show made me spend $100 on the entire series? Well, yes, you probably can.

Anyway, I must say that the adorable awkwardness and slight sexual perversion of Jeff won my affections; Oliver was cute, but he seemed like too much of a replacement Jeff to be his own character.

And, also, I have a soft spot for Welshmen.

Oh, God! Jeffina! I don't think I've ever laughed that much. And the woman who played him (
Samantha Spiro)... My God, was she good at that. The accent and the way she moved... everything. It really was like Jeff as a woman.

The same thing happened to me; I saw part of the first season and then got the entire season. Definitely worth it though. The woman who played Jeff was perfect. It made it seem so much like Jeff was back (with a few changes).

Jeff all the way. He is just a great character and Olivier didnt even come close. I never hated Oliver I just missed the aspect of the show that Jeff brought and that Oliver never brought. Jeff provided the show with a lot of the comic relief and fabulous one liners and Oliver had nothing. He just took up space and really never interacted with all the characters like Jeff did. I dont hate Oliver I just totally prefer Jeff over Oliver. And the ladt that was suppose to be Jeff was great. I totally agree. SHe did a great job.

Oh, I LOVED Jeff!!  He was so funny and I loved the "Jeff-isms" like the "Giggle loop" and the "Nudity Buffer."

I didn't really like Oliver, and it was no offense to the character in general, but Jeff was some pretty big shoes to fill...

Jeff, because it seems to me that they just made the same character, changed the name, adn casted a worse actor in the part. Plus, he's not as funny.

Oh Jeff hands down. Oliver is alright... he's certainly got his strong points... but Jeff is just great. There's something just magical about that character...

Jeff, all the way. That's like asking Coupling or American Coupling? No comparison.

Though Oliver did grow on me over time, he will never be able to compare to that which is Jeff. I don't think anyone could. Jeff is just... Jeff. Irreplaceable.

Jeff. He is hysterically funny and always makes me laugh. Oliver was not bad and he got better and became likable. But Richard Coyle is badly missed.

Apparently Richard Coyle wanted to do bigger and better things... maybe that was the reason for the show to end? Without Coyle's Jeff, the show lost its most comedic character.

Oliver is all right, and very funny in his own right, and he grows on you after a while.

    But Jeff Murdoch was seminal.

The show lost a lot when it lost Jeff. I didn't like it nearly as much without him and never warmed up to Oliver.

    Here, here. My sentiments exactly.
Jeff was great. Potentially the best character in the show, and the show suffered after his departure. Oliver was alright in his first episode, but I never liked his character.

Jeff, always. Oliver was okay, but he just wasn't Jeff. Jeff was hillarious.

You've obvously never bought Star Trek on DVD, $100 bucks a piece, $700 for a complete run of a show. $100 is cheaper than what I ended up spending for all 4 seasons of Coupling.

I liked Oliver because while they originally had him as a Jeff-lite, he also seemed the anti-Jeff, in that he was odd but not to the extreme Jeff was. He was more relatable. Plus he was a better foil for Jane, calling her on all her BS was completely awesome. None of the others would have got away with it, they tried with Susan but she came off as incredibly mean.

They need a to bring back both of them, and a new woman for Jeff. I doubt his job would just let him take a vacation during Susan's whole pregnancy.

The fourth season just wasn't the same without the Jeff and his "Jeff-isms". He made me laugh all the time.
