Episode Recap

This episode starts off with Patrick going to Sally's house to "save" her from a spider. He had a dream that Sally called him and asked him to come over and get rid of a spider. He thought she really called him. At this point a funny and slightly awkward scene ensues since Sally had a guy over. Sally says that Patrick must be thinking of her a lot and has something to tell her. While showing Patrick out she calls him Spiderman. They both give each other an odd look and there is a quick flash back with Sally in Patrick's arms.

-Girls- The next day the girls are at drinking wine at their favorite spot. Sally tells them about Patrick the night before. Sally thinks back to the first time she meets Patrick. It was at Susan's office party.

*Sally's Flashback to the office party* You notice that Steve was also at the office party and he meets Susan while looking for his girlfriend Jane. Sally complains some about how she looks in her dress; comparing herself to a beached whale.

Sally: Be honest with me, OK? In this dress do I have a hint of vastness? Susan: No. Sally: Seriously? Below the waist, does it say "Look what's washed up on the beach boys. The settlement is saved."

Susan leaves Sally for a moment to talk to a coworker. While Sally reaches for the vegetable tray her hand and someone else's meet. When she looks up it is Patrick. *End Flashback*

-Guys- The guys are having beer at their favorite spot. Patrick has just finished telling them about his weird night. They are trying to figure out why Patrick had a dream like that about Sally. At this point Jeff gives his thoughts about Jelly Wrestling and Porn Jelly; which have nothing to do with Patrick's problem.

Jeff: You know jelly-wrestling... which is basically jelly, with women wrestling in it... OK, well, think about this. Afterwards, after the wrestling, what happens to the jelly? Because you could sell that. That is a missed opportunity. You could bottle it and sell it... You take the women out first, obviously.

Steve steers the talk back to Patrick's problem. Steve says Patrick has never had a girl for a friend before without some type of agenda. Sally would be the first girl he has been actual friends with so he has some kind of emotional "thing" for her. They decide to look over the evidence again. Evidence: She told Patrick she had a date. He spent the entire evening knowing she was out there with another man. That night he goes crashing into her bedroom thinking she is being attacked by a "spider". Patrick doesn't get what Steve is saying. Steve then suggests that Sally is "The One." Patrick says they already tried to be together and it was awful. Jeff says it was a "Flop." Steve suggests it was awful because when Patrick first met Sally he was going out with Susan and Sally was Susan's best friend. Meaning subconsciously Patrick was still thinking of Sally as Susan's best friend and that's why he "flopped." Patrick thought about it and smirked saying, "You know that might have actually worked." He then says the only problem with that theory is that he actually met Sally first.

*Patrick's Flashback to the office party* Patrick enters the party and scans the room. He finds his girlfriend and she is shocked to see him since she dumped him last night because he never listens to her. He said he must have drifted off at the end of their conversation because he didn't know she dumped him. She walks off and he walks over to the vegetable tray. When he reaches for a vegetable his hand meets someone else's and when he looks up, its Sally. *End Flashback*

-Girls- Jane says she thinks Patrick is Sally's destiny. Sally says she and Patrick already tried and it didn't work. Susan said it didn't work because she didn't snog him fast enough. Jane agrees and says the first snog is very important. Susan tells Jane that Sally has her first snog all planned out for when she meets mister right. She has had this planned out since she was 15. Sally says it is not a whole plan its just music. She wants her first kiss with mister right to be to the Aria from Madame Butterfly. Sally says "Patrick's not the one. I'm almost sure."

-Guys- Patrick says it didn't work out because he knows Sally too well. Steve asks what it was like before he knew her too well. What was their first conversation like?

*Patrick's Flashback* He apologizes for bumping into her hand. They comment on the spread of food. Sally says there are sausages, sausages, sausages, sausage and sausages. Patrick says yeah, and sausages. Sally asks if Patrick works at that office and he says no. She asks how he got to the party.

Patrick: BMW M3 Midnight blue, goes to 60 in 5 seconds on to 100 in another 6, sequential semiautomatic gear box, traction control and black leather seats.

Susan comes back over and asks Sally if she has tried the sausages yet. Sally says they are the best she has ever tasted and Patrick says the sausages are excellent. Sally introduces Susan to Patrick. Patrick remarks

Patrick: Well how about this. Two beautiful, Women and me.

Susan says he must be the type of guy who only notices beautiful women. Patrick asks Susan what makes her say that. Susan says it actually wasn't her that said that.

Patrick: I know I know ugly women can have feelings too. Which frankly doesn't improve them any.

Then Susan and Sally say they will see him later and walk away. Patrick asks a guy at the buffet table,

Patrick: So tell me, with women like that in this office how do you blokes manage to keep your minds on your work?

The guy says Patrick is "a sad sick bastard" and then he walks away. Patrick seems confused. *End Flashback*

-Girls- They ask Sally what Patrick was like when they first met.

*Sally's Flashback* He apologizes for bumping into her hand. They comment on the spread of food. Sally says there is sauté, volevo, quails eggs... Patrick says yeah, and sausages. Sally asks if Patrick works at that office and he says no. She asks how he got to the party.

Patrick: Car.

Susan comes back over with a coworker and asks Sally if she has tried the crudettes yet. Sally says they have the best smoked salmon she has ever tasted and Patrick says the sausages are excellent. Sally introduces Susan to Patrick. Susan introduces Patrick to Morag (an overweight and unattractive coworker).

Patrick: Well how about this. Two beautiful Women and me.

Morag says he must be the type of guy who only notices beautiful women. Patrick asks Susan what makes her say that. Susan says it actually wasn't her that said that.

Patrick: I know I know ugly women can have feelings too. Which frankly doesn't improve them any.

Morag is offended and walks away. Then Susan and Sally say they will see him later and walk away. Patrick asks Morag, at the buffet table,

Patrick: So tell me, with women like that in this office how do you blokes manage to keep your minds on your work?

Morag says Patrick is "a sad sick bastard" and then she walks away. Patrick seems confused. *End Flashback*

-Girls- Sally: That was the exciting first meeting of Sally and Spider man.

She then has a confused and surprised look on her face. She is remembering something from the party she had forgotten. You see a flashback and Sally is in Patrick's arms. Jane assumes the Spiderman comment is because of the dream Patrick had about the spider. Sally said she thinks she talked to Patrick again at the end and asks if maybe she snogged him. Susan said she better hope she didn't cause the next day Patrick called her and asked her out.

Sally: I'm sure I didn't. Almost sure.

*Sally's Flashback* Susan walks into the coat room and asks why she is always the one who arranges a cab for the office party drunk. Sally walks in.

Sally: You're just too nice. You have a face that says doormat. Why can't I find a bloke like you?

Susan says she will be right back and asks Sally if she will be alright alone.

Sally: Speck I'll get by.

Susan leaves Sally in the coat room. Patrick and another guy walk in to get their coats. Sally turns around.

Sally: Oh I didn't see you two there. Patrick: Hello. Sally: Well done Patrick I see you've pulled. Who is your little friend? You know he's much cuter than you are. Can I have him? Patrick: He likes you too. Sally: Sweet. Better get him home before I start flirting.

They all say good night and Patrick leaves with his friend. Sally pours some more wine and looks up. There is a picture of Munich's "Scream." Sally says she hates that painting. Patrick comes back into the room.

Sally: Oh. Where's Tweetle Dumber?

Patrick asks if she is ok and she says she is fine and asks what he wants. Patrick says he is looking for a phone number.

Sally: Oh God. Susan's right? Men always want Susan's number. It's her tiny little bottom isn't it? Tiniest little bottom in the world. It's like two tiny puppies in a tiny little sack. That's why she bounces when she walks. Her little bottom is just so happy with all the tiny littleness in the world. Probably sings in the shower. It's the Walt Disney bottom. Patrick: This is Susan's number? Sally: Yes. I do know it you know. Patrick: Thank you.

Patrick then spins Sally around and she falls into his arms. Sally asks what he is doing and to let her go. Patrick says he doesn't think he can. Sally assumes Patrick has had too much to drink and now he thinks she is attractive. Sally realizes there is no music playing and asks Patrick to put on some music. She asks him to put on Madam Butterfly. *End Flashback*

-Girls- Susan: Well!? Jane: What happened!? Sally: I can't remember!

Sally thinks maybe she can't remember because it just wasn't any good.

-Guys- Steve and Jeff are shocked to find out that Patrick and Sally had a snog and never told them. They said neither Patrick nor Sally ever mentioned it. Patrick says he thinks she forgot.

*Patrick's Flashback* Susan walks into the coat room and asks why she is always the one who arranges a cab for the office party drunk. Sally stumbles in, obviously drunk.

Sally: You're just too nice. You've got a face like a doorknob. I wish I was a lesbian and you were a man.

Susan says she will be right back and asks Sally if she will be alright alone.

Sally: I'm going to miss you Susan.

Susan leaves Sally in the coat room. Patrick walks in to get his coat. Sally turns around.

Sally: Oh. I didn't see you two there. (Patrick seems confused but then realizes she is drunk) Patrick: Hi. Sally: Well done Patrick I see you've pulled. Who is your little friend? You know he's much cuter than you are. Can I have him? Patrick: He likes you too. Sally: Sweet.

They both say good night and Patrick leaves. Sally pours some more wine and looks up. There is a mirror. Sally says she hates that painting. Patrick comes back into the room.

Sally: Oh. Where's Humpty Dumpty..er

Sally falls to the side and Patrick helps her back up. He asks if she is ok and she says she is fine and asks what he wants. Patrick says he is looking for a phone number.

Sally: Oh God. Susan's right? Patrick: No I want your number actually. Sally: Men always want Susan's number. Patrick: No. I want your number. Sally: It's her tiny little bottom isn't it? Teeny, Teeny Tiny little bottom. Susan's bottom is full of puppies. Tiny, happy little puppies. That's why she walks like that. Boing Boing Ruff Ruff. Patrick: Sorry, that your number your writing down right? Sally: Yes. In the shower all the tiny puppies climb out and sing. Like in Bambi. (She seems upset) Patrick: Sally, this is your number? Sally: Yes. I do know it you know. Patrick: Thank you.

Sally then falls over and Patrick catches her. Sally asks what he is doing and to let her go. Patrick says he doesn't think he can. Sally assumes Patrick has had too much to drink and now he thinks she is attractive. He leans in to kiss her and she says "More music." She tells Patrick to put on some music. She asks him to put on Madam Butterfly. Patrick doesn't know what that is and asks if it's a movie. He puts something in. He said he found something similar. They begin snogging and the Spiderman theme starts playing. *End Flashback*

Sally is in a movie rental store. She is calling Patrick to cancel on their movie plans. She says she doesn't really feel like watching a movie (as she picks a movie off the shelf). He says he isn't in a movie mood either. She hangs up and walks to the counter to get her movie. When she reaches the counter Patrick is there renting a movie. It's slightly awkward and they both agree sometimes it's nice to just watch a movie at home. Patrick starts to walk away. Sally calls to him and says "its never going to be us is it?" They agree that it probably isn't and Patrick says he will see her later. When he walks out you see a poster of Spiderman on the back of the door when it closes. Spiderman music begins to play in Sally head and she looks like she is remembering. Then the Madam Butterfly Aria begins to play.
