Episode Summary

The action begins where it left off at the end of series 2 - Steve and Susan have had an argument about their future, and Susan storms out of Steve's flat in tears. The screen splits into two and we follow what happens to both Steve and Susan simultaneously. While Steve tries repeatedly to ring Susan, his courage failing every time, the girls are locked in a debate over the merits of 1471, and what it means if the phone "chirps". Eventually the tension at both ends of the phone gets too much. The boys and the girls set out for "the Temple of Woman': the girls' case, a beauty salon; in the boys' case, a lap dancing club.moreless

    • Trivia

      ADD TRIVIA
      • While the length of Steve & Jane's relationship was quoted at three different lengths in the first three episodes of the series, this episode confirms that Steve & Jane dated for four years (Susan confirms it at the Temple Of Woman). Edit
      • If you listen really carefully during the dream scene where Steve gets kicked out of Susan's house, you can hear a really distorted version of "Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps". Edit
      • In the scene where the girls are walking towards the beauty salon (the long shot) it is not Kate Isitt (Sally) walking with Sarah Alexander (Susan) and Gina Bellman (Jane). Edit
    • Notes

      ADD NOTES
      • This episode was taped on July 17, 2002. Edit
      • This entire episode is filmed in split screen. Edit
    • Quotes

      ADD QUOTES
      • Jeff: Yeah. I hate phoning, you never know who is gonna answer. Edit
      • Sally: Do you know what my neck needs? Susan: To be left alone. You've already got enough products on you to make a spare woman. If anti-aging cream actually worked, you'd be back in puberty. Edit
      • Dream Steve: Why are you always turning up in these dreams? Dream Jeff: It's a gift. Edit
    • Allusions

      ADD ALLUSIONS
      • Jeff: It's me! Jeff Murdock! Jenny: Oh my god! Scary Jeff! This reference goes back to episode 5 of season 1 (The Girl With Two Breasts), when Jeff rants on about how all the girls in school used to call him "Scary Jeff". Edit
      • Jeff's comments to "Shoot the dogs" and "Make her do the crawl action" while Patrick is playing Playstation means that they are playing one of the Tomb Raider games as buxom British heroine Lara Croft. Edit
      • The episode's title could be a slight in-joke about how the episode is shot "split"-screen. Edit
