When Sally imagines herself in her "safe place," the quartet is playing the famous aria from Madame Butterfly, which Sally had asked Patrick to play in the "Remember This" episode.

Steve blurting out "hippo" during a moment of confusion is based on a similar mishap involving Jeff in season 3 episode 2, "Faithless."

When Sally thinks that she is pregnant, she names the possible father as Peter, the man with whom she was in bed when Patrick arrived to "save" her from the spider in the episode "Remember This".

Jeff has 8,000 words for breasts and counting. During the flashbacks to the office-party which was estimately 5 years ago it is stated that Jeff has 3000 words for breasts (In episode 4 season 4 it is mentioned that 5 years before Patrick and Susan were going out, they met at this party and weren't going out together for more than a year, hence the estimation). This means Jeff managed to collect 5000 words for breasts in approximately 5 years which is about 3 words per day.

A rarity in lighthearted sitcoms, to be sure: this is the SECOND episode in the series to contain allusions to necrophelia (the first being Sex, Death & Nudity from season 1).

While the length of Steve & Jane's relationship was quoted at three different lengths in the first three episodes of the series, this episode confirms that Steve & Jane dated for four years (Susan confirms it at the Temple Of Woman).

If you listen really carefully during the dream scene where Steve gets kicked out of Susan's house, you can hear a really distorted version of "Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps".

In the scene where the girls are walking towards the beauty salon (the long shot) it is not Kate Isitt (Sally) walking with Sarah Alexander (Susan) and Gina Bellman (Jane).

If the episode carries on directly from series 2, how did Steve get a haircut? Where did Susan get her jacket from? And where did Giselle disapear to?

As Jeff and Patrick play Playstation, it can be seen that there are no cords extending from the back of the Playstation. No power cord or cord to connect it to the TV.

Ivan was also the name of Patrick's "answer phone double" in episode "Jane and the Truth Snake."

There is a big clap when Kate Isitt (Sally) slaps Ben Miles (Patrick) - this is because it was about the fifth take of the scene and poor Ben was nearly unconcious.

The little girl addresses Jane by name at one point, even though Jane hasn't actually told the girl her name.

The blue pillars in the restaurant are actually reused props from "The Melty Man Cometh". They were originally the two pillars that were at the foot of Patrick's bed.

"Ivan" (Patrick's "answer phone double") is possibly referring to the character of the same name in "Dressed" (two episodes later).

In the scene where Steve is talking to Jeremy, Jack Davenport mistakenly flubs a line and says "breast" when he intended to say "rest". In fact, according to the DVD commentary he made the same mistake on three or four takes before they decided to just leave it in.

The Melty Man is possibly the only creation from Jeff's mind that Steve actually acknowledges as realistic.

In "Her Best Friend's Bottom" Steve rings Susan's house and Sally exits the bedroom after one ring. This time the phone rings several times before she comes out.

Jack Davenport (Steve) delivered his cushion speech in only one take.
