Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • There is a window in "The Duck Brothers" that is there, and then disappears. When Muriel is being sucked up into space, there is a window on the first floor on the side of the house that usually isn't there. Then, when Muriel comes back down, the window isn't there.

    • The closet door in the living room is missing.

  • QUOTES (7)

    • Blue Duck: I told you we should have asked.
Green Duck: No, you didn't. You were too busy laying eggs.
      Courage: Fellas?
Blue Duck: Stop talking about my eggs.
      Courage: Fellas.
Green Duck: Eggs, eggs, eggs, eggs, eggs, eggs.
      Courage: Fellas!
      Both Ducks: What?
      Courage: Don't worry, I'll help.

    • Green Duck: Okay, we really need to stop doing that.
Blue Duck: You did it, too.
Green Duck: I was just overcome with joy. I won't let it happen again.
Blue Duck: But what is the problem?
Green Duck: I just don't think it's right for duck brothers to lay eggs.
Red Duck: So is that why you're overcome with joy?
Green Duck: Maybe we should have left you in that kitchen.

    • Shirley: The dead is not to be disturbed.

    • Shirley: One thing, if you contact the dead for personal gain, there will be tragic consequences.
Eustace: Just dial my dead brother and shut up.

    • Shirley: The stupid one. He opened the box, no?
      (Courage nods his head)

    • Security Guard: Oh, it's just a sweet, little, old lady!

    • Chef: Not my duck! What will I serve the soldiers?
Courage: (In thick German accent) Strudel.

  • NOTES (4)

  • ALLUSIONS (4)

    • In "The Duck Brothers," when Courage tells the duck brothers how to fight fair and after telling them they perform the moves he told them not to do on him, this is a reference to the Looney Tunes short "To Duck Or Not To Duck" in which Daffy Duck challenges Elmer Fudd to a boxing match and the referee tells Daffy the same thing and he performs the moves on Elmer while demonstrating.

    • Duck Brothers
The Duck Brothers are also a parody of Liam and Noel Gallagher, who are in a British band called Oasis and are known for their off-stage fights at each other.

    • Duck Brothers
All the Duck Brothers are voiced by Ringo Starr, who is a former member of the The Beatles.

    • Mind-Control Helmets: Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots
Eustace and Muriel fighting, while under the influence of the mind-control helmets, is an homage to the 1970s children's toy "Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots."
