dr. zalost, a sad scientist, wants other people to be as sad as he is, so he blasts people with cannonballs that make them sad. this affects everyone, but muriel, courage and eustace, somehow he missed them. now he is going to go and make them sad, will courage be able to save his owners, and more important, the whole world? You'll have to watch this awesome episode to find out.

It's kind of really dark, especially the music in some scenes, but it is a great episode i think, a personal favorite, and so it gets an A+ from memoreless

I remeber first watching this episode. It has to be the best episode of the series. It is one of the saddest episodes too seeing as how it has a depressed doctor making everyone else feel as sad as he is. I found that pretty sad. If they still showed this programme, id always check to see if this episode is on. It is pretty much the reason that i started watching the show in the first place. I wish i could watch it again at some point. Or at least another episode in general. I haven't seen courage in ages!moreless
  • One of the best episodes ever. This is my reason why I liked watching the series.

This episode was great in my opinion. The animation done on the tower was amazing, the music was breathtaking, the plot was awesome, and Courage is able to keep his cool when facing his enemies. Even though Eustice hardly pays attention to all the excitement, he's still able to pick the right moment to act like an idiot and be funny. All the symbolism is great, too: good overcoming bad; never giving up in the face of danger; and quick thinking + being clever can save you. This is definitely one of the times where John Dilworth was at his best. Everything goes back to normal or in the case of Courage, normal enough. This episode really shows that feelings like love and kindness are what make us human. If we don't have feelings, then we might as well be turned into stone. This episode deserves a rating of 10.moreless
