  • German in TV

    3.0
Just enough already with the german in tv shows. i almost couldnt stand it. I mean they've got enough money why cant they hire someone who actually can speak german. this is so bad my ears hurt and the car plates dont get me started on the car plates and if anybody ever sees a real swiss policeman well they do not look like this.BTW in sitzerland they do speak german but swiss german. Well back to this weeks episode Oded Fehr guest starring as a mossad operative pretty cool I just love this actor. The Story wasnt that interesting. One more thing does Annie only have one pair of shoes?moreless

Covert Affairs latest episode seemed "good" but there was never that big climatic point. As a viewer I just kept waiting for something monumental to take place, but instead I was left in purgatory as the show tarried on. They kept teasing something with Annie and whatever his name was, and it never happened.

There were some funny parts, and Auggie's interrogation was entertaining, but this show still fails to capture the excitement from me that the rest of the USA Network lineup delivers. It is almost like the show knows it has assembled a good cast with a good premise that it thinks it will just have a good episode with minimal effort. That is not the case.

Try a little bit harder and I know Covert Affairs will keep me tuning in.moreless
  • Perabo is amazing and leads this cast to another great show!

This was an absolutely amazing episode of Covert Affairs. The episode was definitely extremely suspenseful, which was really great to see, and I was really delighted for the episode to take place in beautiful Switzerland.

There were some great moments right throughout the episode. This show has had some terrific car chase scenes an d explosion scenes. They really put in a lot of effort and they have managed to sconstruct some terrific scenes, thus far.

I'm really enjoying this show, and I hope it can continue in this form of greatness! Lovely effort guys, and I can't wait to see more! Until then, I willl rave about and recommend this show to absolutely anybody!moreless
  • Piper Perabo is stunning as always...not sure about the episode though

Covert Affairs is a show that I look forward to every tuesday nights since its premier. However, I feel that just like last week's episode, this week's episode lack substance and the whole plot was a little weak.

I definitely like the fact that being in CIA means you get to travel to other countries for a mission. However, I feel that the missions that Annie Walker goes on have not generated much of any action. I enjoy the pilot a lot because there was action in that episode but this week's episode, there really wasn't much action. I wish they did more to the whole "mission compromised" plot instead of simply saying "one of of agencies is compromised" and then before the end of the episode "It was Mossad because of ________" I just felt that the whole rogue Mossad agent thing wasn't really developed and the whole thing was just rushed instead. I felt the same way about the whole leak thing that was going on as a subplot during the episode. I don't want to bring up other shows but when I think of a leak, I think of NCIS season 6. I think of NCIS because the team addressed the leak really well and did a fantastic job drawing out the mole. However, in Covert Affairs, they just put the whole staff on a polygraph (which aren't even that reliable in the first place since they aren't even admissible in court). I thought that the whole accusing Auggie (never knew his actual name is August...which is pretty cool) was random. I felt that during this episode, the "who's the CIA leak?" subplot was rushed throughout the episode. I know the leak thing isn't over yet just cuz Auggie passed the polygraph despite showing discontent on certain thing in CIA. (like we didn't see this coming). I am hoping that in the later episodes, they will deal investigate the leak in a more cunning manner.

However, as said earlier, I still look forward to this show every tuesday and I am sure I always will. When I watch this show, I watch it to enjoy it instead of watching it to find reasons to dislike it (sadly, there are people who do this). There were still things I like about this episode. For one, I definitely enjoy Oded Fehr's character. I will forever remember him as Antoine from Deuce Bigalow. It's like every character he plays in a show or movie, it's like he's a badass but then at the time, I still find him comical just like in this episode. I definitely love the chemistry between him and Annie Walker. I also like how the show always highlights Annie's lack of experience in the field such as hiding the briefcase in a supposedly empty room. But then despite being as newbie, she still knows how to get the job done at the end of the day. I also enjoy Auggie's "why the hell do I have to take a polygraph" attitude. I definitely enjoy his character and that him and Annie are definitely a team.

But ya, thought the plot was a little weak but I am still looking forward to next week's episode.moreless
