Episode Summary

The Season 5 opener finds Annie and Auggie thinking about the future just as a connection from the past resurfaces and leads Annie on a race against time to prevent a terrorist attack on U.S. soil. Elsewhere, tension mounts between Calder and Joan as they wait to see who will become the new boss; and Arthur thinks about a career in the private sector.

Who was the Episode MVP ?

No results found.
  • Shady Lane

Part Burn Notice, part Homeland, this was a very strong start to Covert Affairs. I feel like the pace and direction of this show changes year to year, sometimes even week to week, but overall a very good episode.
  • Great start for Season 5 - Darker mission this year

The writers have reatly stepped up their game. I'm anxious for the next episode.

They have at long last - figured out what those weapons are for.

    Henry -- now Oksana.

No more nonsense. Just take em out.

  • What a Season 5 Premier lt Was.

(So glad my show is back). Annie has been off the grid for four months since killing Henry and her story of a quiet stay at a beach convinces a polygraph but not Auggie or Calder. Khalid (from season 3) resurfaces in Chicago and he is found and killed but leaves evidence leading to Borz Altan, a Muslim veteran of both the US military and the private security firm of Ryan McQuade. With a clue given by McQuade, Annie identifies what appears to be a terror threat against the Chicago Board of Trade but is actually a ruse to get a suicide bomber (Borz' brother) into the CIA's secret Chicago facility, where he kills twelve agents including a close friend of Auggie's. Calder remains as interim DCS, and Joan is placed under him as head of DPD on her return from maternity leave. Annie asks to return to working with Auggie as her handler, but she is concealing a medical condition that causes sudden respiratory attacks and Arthur accepts a job with McQuade. Calder assigns Annie the mission of finding Borz and his backers, who clearly have inside knowledge of CIA operations. Fantastic Episode.moreless
  • Annie's back!

    Awesome episode!

But I kinda like her better as a brunette.
  • In From The Cold, And A Explosive Return!

Wow this was defiantly a majorly entertaining Premiere!

It defiantly topped the 4th Season's by leaps and bounds!

I loved seeing Annie back to blonde and to her badass self

However I was really concerned by her 'episode' it was a complete shock to me and I am so psyched to know the cause, If it is merely physical or psychological, I think that it will be both!

Also I am quite intrigued by the lack of information she gave about what happened during her 4 Month absence I cannot wait for her secret to be fully revealed over this 5th Season!

Her reunion with Auggie was not as romantic as I had hoped but despite that I'm so glad that our dynamic spy duo is back as partners they just mesh so well together as a team I am so excited to see them work together again!

Also I was equally happy that there wasn't any residual drama from their break-up but that still doesn't mean I don't want them seriously sit down eventually and have a ACTUAL discussion, oh well beggars can't be choosers I'll take what I can get .

Having Auggie Annie & Calder working together again was awesome I'm so glad that Calder stayed on, I cannot wait to learn more about his 'girlfriend' and more about him in general this season!

Ryan McQuaid is a very mysterious character I don't know if I trust him but I do like him he's very charismatic and cool

I also was plenty happy to see that Joan was back and in the DPD again, I kinda wasn't shocked by the decision about her career.

The 'blast from the past' in this premiere was awesome, I can't wait to know his connection to this horrifying event

All in all this was a fantastic set-up for the 5th Season! Is it next Tuesday Yet? LOL!
