Faye Valentine, a woman on the run from the authorities, is held captive by a casino owner who wants her to perform a simple task. If she does this, then all of her debt the authorities are so eager to obtain from her will be erased. At the same time, Jet has a premonition to take a chance with his hard earned money. The former cop and Spike head over to the same casino that Faye is now working at.moreless

In this episode Spike and Jet take a break and decide to go to a casino. There Spike gets caught in a game of cards with a lady named Faye who is actually a wanted woman who is forced to work for the casino. In the end Faye comes on their side although Spike and jet aren't to thrilled about it. Its a slightly slower episode than most of the show but its still very good at what it does.moreless
  • Introducing Faye Valentine...another one of Spike's pet peeves, women!

    8.0
    "Great"
This episode definately sums up Faye's character very nicely. She's spontaneous, seductive and loves to pout! I think this is an important episode as far as character development goes, since she plays an important role in the latter episodes of the season. I also enjoy the attitudes Jet and Spike portray towards her arrival. Obviously they don't think she's in any way very clever neither do they seem to be attracted at all! Unfortunately as far as the plot line goes, it's kind of weak and contains some minor plot holes. I'm willing to put up with it since I absolutely love Cowboy Bebop. I just wish they had ended it differently, but perhaps it was more true to character for Spike to spend the chip rather than try to sell it. After all, that only would have created another story altogether.moreless
