Somnambulism is the proper medical term for "sleepwalking."

Lt. Whipple's rank seems to indicate he is somewhat worthy of Sharkey's barbs about him. He is in his mid-thirties and is only a lieutenant JG, the equivalent of a first lieutenant in the Air Force or Army. He's not exactly on the Navy's fast-track career path.

Captain Quinlan is certainly an important person at the recruit center. Her rank of Captain is equivalent to that of a full Colonel in the Army, Marines or Air Force.
