Criminal Minds

The idea of this episode came to Jim Clemente when he was on Myrtle Beach two years ago, and they were doing a beach reclamation project (restoring the beach after a very harsh winter). The workers pump sand through a big pipe from deep water and spray the sandy water onto the beach. The sand falls out of the mix and the water runs off into the sea, and that is how the beach is rebuilt. Sections are added to the pipe until the whole beach is built up to its original height. One of the workers jumped off a bulldozer and waded into the spray from the pipe and picked out a megoladon tooth (dinosaur shark tooth) from the sandy water. He said he gets good money for them so he is always watching out for them. At the time, Jim said to himself, "What if he found human bones instead?"
