    • In the opening music lesson scene, the camera shows the sheet music on the stand; however, there are no lyrics. The music is actually the accompanist's version of the song.
    • When Gideon is comparing the woman's body with an angel, he asks Garcia for the crime scene shots as he holds his left hand upward. When the camera pans in, the crime scene shots are shown downward and they are held by a right hand. However, the nails of that hand are done, leading to the conclusion that it's actually Garcia's hand.

    • Hotchner: What happened to you?
Gideon: (entering the room on crutches) I got a list of things I want to try before it's too late.
Elle: (sarcastically) And orthopedic surgery's one of them?
Gideon: No, skydiving. Apparently it's all about the landing.

    • Gideon: (to Garcia, hurriedly) Give me the book. The big one, right there.
Garcia: OK. (muttering under her breath) Get the book, please, Penelope. Here you are. Thank you.

    • Hotchner: Well, you managed to get on Garcia's nerves pretty thoroughly.
      Gideon: Who's Garcia?
Hotchner: Penelope? The tech? With the glasses.
Gideon: In the room with the screens? She's great!

    • Hotchner: How is it having Gideon around?
Garcia: You can have him back whenever you would like.

    • Gideon: Harriet Beecher Stowe once said, "The bitterest tears shed over graves are for words left unsaid, and deeds left undone."

    • The music heard in this episode was "Lullaby" by Martyrs and Poets and "My Father's Voice (Live)" by Judith Owen.
  • Allusions

    ADD ALLUSIONS
    • Reid mentions Richard Trenton Chase, a paranoid schizophrenic who was convicted of murder in 1978. He started out killing and eviscerating animals and eating their entrails, and moved up to humans. The bloody rings made by the unsub's containers in this episode were found at Chase's crime scenes. He suffered from many delusions including the "alien" one mentioned by Reid.
