  • Another ho-hum episode

For me, this whole series isn't so much about the gruesome murders - which seem to be getting more and more gory - it's about the interaction of the BAU team members. How they cope doing the job they do, how they interact with each other and how they grow and change. This whole season is heavily focussed on Hotch, as was this episode. The other characters are in the sidelines a lot which makes me rather unhappy. The gruesome murder focus is getting a little tired. One would think that there would be more uses for the BAU's talents out there - perhaps the CIA could use Reid's talents in deciphering code, perhaps Garcia could go up against a tech expert, perhaps JJ - the public face - could --- okay I'm waffling. This episode was a bit ho hum for me. Another gruesome murder, another typical twist, la di da. If it weren't for Hotch's promotion I'd have fallen asleep.
  • What a twisted and an incredible episode!! So much going on in one hour it was hard to keep track, but the way i like them, not a dull moment at all!!

An unsub pregnanates women, kills them and keep the male children and if the they're girls he takes the girl babies to Arizona and leaves them with churches or hosptials, that way state police won't get too suspicious. A very creative episode and a well written episode, and there's another twist a little shake up at the BAU, I'm not going to say what only cause if there's someone out there that hasn't watched the episode I don't want to be the one spoiling it for you. Overall this episode was one of the better episodes of the season, can't wait for the rest of the season, and I can't wait for the 100th episode!!
  • So so good, not expected.

OMG who expected that i know i didn't, a good episode crime wise, but who cares about that when you get a big twist at the end like that wow, i am so so exited for the next episode i really just can't wait. This is all making the anticipation for the 100th so much bigger i can not wait it's going to be awesome. The only thing i regret about this episode is the fact that the unsub story line wasn't done any where as well as it could of been iwould like to have seen that in it's own episode that wasn't so foccused on the team. Speaking of the team i loved JJ, Morgan, and Hotch in this episode however i wished we could of seen some more of the other cast members.

    7 days till next week.
  • The plot is creepy and more than a little gratuitous. This is unfortunately the kind of episode that gives credence to the charge of some critics that the show does women down. Not easy to watch.

Doesn't anyone feel manipulated by this case? The forcible removal of the newborn? The murder within minutes of giving birth? The long imprisonment and multiple miscarriages? The all-important blue-eyed, blond-haired man-child? Why is there no strong reaction of disgust from anyone within the BAU? It just seems business as usual with them. Garcia's little joke about having Morgan's child, my Prince? Does none of this matter?

It's no real comfort that the horror is alleviated by the unbelievability of the plot. The B-plot of Morgan and Hotchner in this context was at least diverting, if again, unbelievable. I'm not sure what is gained watching Morgan cope with the kind of paperwork and politics that Hotchner thrives on. Though I wonder who is really pulling the strings behind the promotion/demotion. (It will help Hotchner at this time, no? And it's valuable experience for Morgan.)

Enough of the negatives. There were moments of good acting. Morgan brings a nice bristling kind of conflict, 'Man, I'm worried about you'. The grandparents were lovely people. It was good to see more of JJ. Liked Rossi and Reid with the Presbyterian pattern and the Lisa, Elizabeth, Amanda pattern -- that at least felt on the move and serious. Reid looked so pleased with himself. It's not enough to stop 'Cradle to Grave' being the low point of the season so far.
  • Creepy!!

I love the entire cast of this show, so pretty much any episode rates an 8 or better from me, but this wasn't one of my favorites. It was good, but really creepy! Maybe when I watch it on DVD I'll feel differently.

I read all the other reviews and I guess I'm the only one that was bothered by the timing of an unsub with breast cancer? This is breast cancer awareness month, what were they trying to say by broadcasting it this month instead of another? Maybe I just took it wrong. Anyway, I was really glad to see more of J.J. and Reid this week. Love all the cast and like episodes when they all participate evenly. Thought we were losing Hotch for a minute there at the end, and am relieved he's staying. I am so excited about the 100th episode. I cant't decide if I am hoping they kill Foyet or let him rot in prison for eternity. I think maybe dead is better in his case.

I most say that this episode really continued the brutality what seems to be the main focus at the start of this season. We have not had any "mild" case.. Every case has been on the edge with force and violence. But it was good episode, do not get me wrong. I loved the story, the twisted way those unsubed worked: I mean, to come up with that kind of functioning family.. good work by writers. I think this episode, the case and chars personal storylines were really well balanced. Sometimes one gets more focus than other but this episode had beautiful dynamic. I liked the way Morris was getting more and more into situation he felt Hotch pushes him too far but for no way, I was expecting what we learned in the end. That for sure, gives a totally new dynamic and direction for the show.. But I hope not for too long.

And JJ and Garcia and their concerns with those kids. In so many ways is was JJ- centered episode. Her special(?) connection to kids, always being more that kind of distanced person of the crimes and now getting so involved (like in the entering to the house. She and Prentise went first).

    Really good episode

This episode was good. Unexpected. It was, as usual with Criminal Minds, definitely creepy and dark and twisty. The unsubs were definitely unexpected, I expected a single man, but when the breast cancer woman comes up, I was shocked.

There was more appearances with JJ in this episode, I guess it's her connection with children, since she has her own child, she cares more about the children on cases now. She dealt a lot with the victim's families. I liked how at the end, the grandparents knew that if they were to claim Lisa, the first abandoned baby girl, they would be doing more harm than good, but at the end, they met with their grandson.

Also this episode had a lot of tension between Hotch and Morgan. Hotch was expecting more of Morgan, and Morgan was confused not to mention very pissed off when Hotch calmly told him off a couple of times. I was shocked at the end with what Hotch is doing, but I'm glad he's still in.

The crime wasn't as horrific as other crimes potrayed on the show, the motive was more about desperation than cold-blooded, crazy killing. This episode was a good one, in which the crime and character storyline were both balanced.
  • Finally, a better episode than some earlier in the series. This was a good one. Fast-paced, scary and tragic all at once.

A serial killer in New Mexico is abducting young women, keeping them in an underground dungeon-type structure, making them pregnant and then killing them after they give birth.

When the BAU are asked to assist with the investigation, they don't actually do much in the way of profiling, which is a shame as that is one of the things I enjoy about this show and something that makes it different from anything else currently on the air.

When the young women give birth, if the baby is a girl it is left on the doorstep of a church. The boys, if they survive, are given to the man's cancer-striken wife to take care of as substitutes for the children she does not and cannot have. The woman is plainly dying and her husband has complete control over her, the girls and the babies.

Many shades of Gary Heidnik here, and just as scary and also, unfortunately, very believable. A good episode, enjoyable and well worth watching but let us hope for more full scale profiling in future episodes instead of just in a very limited capacity.

In this episode of Criminal Minds, the following happens. The team travel to Albuquerque to investigate the case of a serial killer who impregnates young women and murders them after they have given birth. The case moves really quickly in this episode, and we soon learn that the Unsub is leaving the baby girls at safe heavens and keeping the boys.

Soon the Unsub and his sick wife are IDed and the case is solved. But on another note, Hotch pushes Morgan harder in this episode, and at the end we learn why. Aaron is standing down as leader of the tem, and Morgan will be put in charge. Morgan doesn't want to do it, but agrees to do so, until the killer after Hotch's family is found.
  • A completely unique case - and I really love the episode title!

This was a terrific instalment of Criminal Minds, and perhaps the best episode since the season premiere.

This one featured a truly unique storyline, in which a serial killer was using kidnapped women to breed. The most interesting part was what was being done with the babies, in terms of the girls and boys.

As amazing as the case was, the revelations regarding our team at the end of the episode were really shocking, and even if it isn't something I particularly like, it should make for some highly interesting entertainment in any case.

Overall, definitely a very terrific episode! Can't wait for more, and keep up this high calibre , Criminal Minds!

  • Cradle to Grave... show about an unsub capturing women to have babies for his ill and mentally ill wife.

This episode was AWESOME!!!!! Totally bannanas! I loved how Hotch pushed Morgan, and the fact that JJ was involved from beginning to end. I wish there would have been more Reid though. I thought last weeks episiode was good, but this weeks topped that. I think it is very cool, that Hotch wants Morgan to lead the team to keep the team together, rather than having Hotch leave altogether (who I also love). I think this will add an excellent dynamic to the show. Its great to see more Morgan, I think he's great in his role. When he took the baby from the woman, that whole piece was truly touching. I like where you are going with these episodes... keep them coming PLEASE
