Criminal Minds has been airing on A&E and ION for quite awhile now, and there was a wonderful marathon on Christmas Day. All fans are welcome to contribute to the discussion. If anyone became fans of the show by watching on cable rather than on CBS, here is your thread to discuss any and all episodes from previous seasons as well as the current one

I love that A&E shows it almost every day. It helps me catch up with the episodes I haven't seen and refresh my memory on the recent ones. Plus, tonight they showed one of my favorites, so I can't complain.

Are you talking about Mayhem? I was on the edge of my seat... I'd forgotten how it ended and how really good it was in the first place! Morgan really was a hotdog with that ambulance!

...Okay, two of my favorite episodes. I was actually talking about 52 Pickup, which has probably more humor in it than any other episode which makes me smile. I also really love it when Reid does magic.

I like watching the older episodes clustered with the newer ones because it reminds me of the different makeups of the team and how it's changed over the five years and how the show itself has changed. Wathching the older episodes reenforces to me how much I prefer Prentiss to Elle and even though I originally began to watch the show because of Mandy Patinkin, I found I didn't really miss Gideon at all and now I much prefer Rossi to him. They didn't use Garcia nearly as much in the beginning and she wasn't even in the opening credits yet has now become an integral part of the team. Of course one of the main reasons I like seeing the older episodes is because there's more Reid in them. He seemed like a real member of the team in the first four seasons much more than he has in this season.

I have stated before that I loved the idea that CM went into syndication. I think ION was new for this year. It brings in new viewers who were not fans of the show before to watch on Wednesdays. I feel the ratings have gotten better this year.

I have loved all the seasons of CM and all the characters. I thought Elle was fine, but Emily came in with a lots of baggage, giving her character more depth. Gideon was the star of the show in the beginning, but I think Hotch became the lead for the team when he left. I like Rossi, but it is unfair to compare him to the unique character that Gideon was.

Poor MGG's knee has kept him on the sidelines this season. There is a promise of more Reid in the new year. So much of this season has been about Hotchner, it is time to focus on the other team members. I liked the Reaper arc, but it was too much time spent on one person.

As I watched Amplification again tonight on CBS, I realized how much I really miss Reid. He adds so much to the team dynamic. So, yeah, welcome back, Dr. Spencer Reid. We have missed you

Caught Fisher King I and II last night - what a terrific case including lots of fun for the fans trying to figure out all the clues over the hiatus. It helped me remember what I love about this show, and reminded me how much I enjoy Prentiss and Rossi over the Elle and Gideon characters.

I love him because he's not comic relief, but he's still hilarious. "Is there any more jello?"

I wouldn't say "welcome back" until we actually see more Reid on the screen. As CRavios said, promises have been made, but forgive me if I'm skeptical until they're kept. We've seen so much Hotch and Morgan so far this season, I'm almost sick of them. So it's a good thing I have A&E to turn to to get my fix of some of the other characters. Seeing more of Reid would really make this a happy new year. I hope the writers were serious when they said we'd see more of him. By the way I wish a safe, healthy and Happy New Year to all in tv.com land.

In order for us to see more of Reid, MG would need to finish recovering from his knee surgery. Rushing things could have extremely long term, negative consequences for MG.

I like that the show doesn't focus on just one character all the time. We already know a great deal about Spencer, I've been enjoying learning more about the rest of the group. It is a team, after all.

Yes, there have been many who have said they are in favor of no more charcter centric episodes for a while. I heartily agree. There is will be nothing worse for fans to think "Whose week is it this week?" every Wednesday. While I will love to see more of MGG, I understand why people want to see a plain old ordinary case.

If there is anyone whose past I want explored, it is Erin Strauss. I want to know why she is so hard on Hotch, how she got to be section chief and how upwardly moblie she wants to be.

Yes, these are the things I look forward to in 2010. Happy New Year everyone!

Is anyone watching the New Years Day marathon on A&E? New viewers, please feel free to ask questions in this thread. If I can't answer them, someone else can

I can't believe you just said that.. no wait. I can Especially since "Doubt" had to be edited to include new footage on his exit and the scenes about the murdered college students weren't aired at all. Boo. Looks like "In Name and Blood" is next. Then "Scared to Death." Rock on A&E!

Edit: Whoa! The censors deleted a word in a line of dialogue and I wonder what it was. The first three words were "cover your own." Maybe the censored word was synonymous with donkeys or something

I didn't understand that. You loved Gideon but don't miss him?

I though Doubt was awesome. It was cut from Season 2 as most know. It was Gideon's last case, god I really miss him.

yeah... I loved him, don't miss him. I respect Mandy P's decision to leave - the show was too dark for him and bothered him within himself. I don't respect the way he left. I adore David Rossi / Joe M, a great change / addition.

    On to Identity!! WOo hoo!

Can I get an AMEN! What did Kristin say? Find your bliss - Mandy had to find his, but he sure didn't act too professionally about it. The editors did a wonderful job with that ep, fitting in new footage, making it all work. I believe phf is correct about the "donkey-ish" censored word. A&E has higher standards than CBS? Who knew??

Ya gotta learn to pace yourself, CMJ. Take deep breaths. Next A&E marathon, Lucky & Penelope - However, I just checked zap2it.com and see The Instincts, Memoriam and Masterpiece are airing right now on ION.
