Not enough Dr Reid this season....I miss the interaction between Gideon/Reid as a father figure and Morgan/Reid as a brother figure who teased Reid all the time. Reid used to go with the team to the crime scenes...now all he does is sit behind his desk....I miss all the great Reid lines from Season 1....when he blurted all the unnecessary facts.
My favorite scenes this whole season have been those of Reid and his mother. And they were few.
I miss the Reid from Season 1 I loved so much!!!

Hey we've only had three episodes so far this season and Reid played a huge part in the first one. Don't panic!

they might have been looking on this forum and seen the comments about it becoming the Reid show! I think its good to see more of some of the other characters.

I agree with Comtessededia. Let's not panic yet, given that we've seen only three episodes. And to all Reid fans, I too would have no complaints if Reid were made the focus of every episode, but for the sake of the show surviving, ALL the characters need extra focus, so Reid temporarily being in the background is a good thing.

True, the Reid/Gideon and Reid/Morgan relationships are also two of the highlights of my viewing experience, so right now I'm missing that too. I think that right now the cast and the writers are having to deal with the process of ejecting Elle from the show, and to pull that off nicely must be a difficult task for them. That angle is probably going to turn into more of the focus for the next couple of episodes, so the toned-down focus on our favorite character relationships is just a little hiccup we'll have to deal with for the time being. Folks, at this point I'm ready for the leaving and recasting to go on and take place just so I can regain a little sense of normalicy in watching the show (but maybe that's just me.)

This is addressed specifically to the WRITERS (just in case you writers actually check out these forums for feedback):  Don't forget about the Gideon/Reid and Morgan/Reid relationships on the team! The vast majority of us LIKE it! It's a strong point!

There...even though that was probably useless I feel like I've done my part (or at least all that I can do that might actually help.)

    Exactly! There's plenty of time.

If anything, the writers want to find a better way to make Elle's exit and set up for the next team member.

Right with you smartchick! I could watch Reid sit on a chair and do *nothing* but for most people I suspect that would make for dull tv. We're about to get a character change and tv likes to put that sort of thing into a story arc, even when the basic premise of every episode is "stand alone".

I agreen with your posting. I wonder if the show's writers check this kind of imput to see how the show is doing? They would be smart to do so.

Indeed, more Reid would be better. However, the season is young. I sure do hope he does not wear those unflattering glasses the entire rest of the time.
For the fun of it I punched Matthew Gray Gubler into EBAY. Ha...three items came up. A pillowcase with the good Dr. Reid's picture on it (for snuggling with???), a t-shirt and a license plate frame. Cracked me up...although the pillow case.......

I'm starting to get worried. This was the fourth episode and still not much Reid....it seems he is mostly in the background giving an opinion here and there. I understand that other characters need more development...and maybe each episode could focus on one of the characters...... giving a little more background on each....but seeing so little of Reid has me discouraged. I no longer look foward to Criminal Minds the way I used to. Hopefully, after Elle is gone, we'll start seeing more of Reid. He is the reason why I got so hooked in the first place.

Right now, I'm really enjoying watching Prison Break. Wentworth Miller (who is really cute!!) plays Michael Scofield a genious who breaks his brother from jail.

What can I say??? I have a soft spot for geniuses!!!!!

We just have to be patient, that's all.

Although I have to admit that, indeed, at this point when Reid starts receiving a little more star treatment in a future episode I might do a happy dance. We can't get discouraged yet! (not that I haven't experienced a little discouragement myself, but then again...with my work/school schedule, this is that point in the semester when I physically feel like I've been hit by a bus, so I'm in a perpetually tired and crabby mood. It hasn't taken much to push my buttons when it comes to this show because I've come to truly care about it)

Let's face it. With Lola leaving and Padget replacing her, the dynamics of the team and the show itself are in a state of limbo until everything's finally done with! I've decided to accept the inevitable wierdness this transition period has induced with as much grace as possible, and in the meantime be happy for, well, whatever the heck I can be happy about!

Guys, at least Reid's not leaving! Even if he hasn't been the main character lately, at least we can be secure in the knowledge that he's still around; therefore, those of us who enjoy the opportunity to grin stupidly at him just when he appears on screen can keep on grinning stupidly. (lol)

I also became hooked on the show because of MGG. There can't be enough of that man on my tv screen. I love any interaction he has with JJ because I am a big shipper at heart. I didn't watch last season, but she would be a sweet fit for him. It would be nice to see the geeky guy get the beautiful girl once and awhile. Maybe once the dust settles with Lola leaving and Paget joining, they'll give us more character development. BTW, Dr. Reid couldn't be cuter curled up on the couch sleeping!

I couldn't agree more. The glasses just don't suit his face. (why would you want to hide that face behind glasses?)

I like the glasses! He looks like he should be hanging in Hill Valley.

Sorry, I've never heard of Hill Valley. We may disagree on the glasses, but I read your last message post, and I feel the same way. Matthew Gray Gubler is so sexy, I would also be content just watching him sit and do nothing.

Hill Valley is where Back To The Future is set and the glasses are very 50s.

I'm with the 'galsses, ugh, no!' people. He looks horrible in them. I know they try to geek Reid up as much as possible but is it necessary to uglify him so much? Unless, of course, Reid knows he looks horrible and does that on purpose. Traumatic childhood experience?

I don't mind the glasses that much. He looks good no matter what....with or without glasses...the kid is cute!!!! nothing can hide that. But I do prefer him without the glasses.
What I don't understand is....why the glasses??????...he never wore them the first season....and they haven't explained why suddenly he's wearing them.....just curious that's all.
