My favorite scenes this whole season have been those of Reid and his mother. And they were few.
I miss the Reid from Season 1 I loved so much!!!

I agree with Comtessededia. Let's not panic yet, given that we've seen only three episodes. And to all Reid fans, I too would have no complaints if Reid were made the focus of every episode, but for the sake of the show surviving, ALL the characters need extra focus, so Reid temporarily being in the background is a good thing.
True, the Reid/Gideon and Reid/Morgan relationships are also two of the highlights of my viewing experience, so right now I'm missing that too. I think that right now the cast and the writers are having to deal with the process of ejecting Elle from the show, and to pull that off nicely must be a difficult task for them. That angle is probably going to turn into more of the focus for the next couple of episodes, so the toned-down focus on our favorite character relationships is just a little hiccup we'll have to deal with for the time being. Folks, at this point I'm ready for the leaving and recasting to go on and take place just so I can regain a little sense of normalicy in watching the show (but maybe that's just me.)
This is addressed specifically to the WRITERS (just in case you writers actually check out these forums for feedback): Don't forget about the Gideon/Reid and Morgan/Reid relationships on the team! The vast majority of us LIKE it! It's a strong point!
There...even though that was probably useless I feel like I've done my part (or at least all that I can do that might actually help.)

Right with you smartchick! I could watch Reid sit on a chair and do *nothing* but for most people I suspect that would make for dull tv. We're about to get a character change and tv likes to put that sort of thing into a story arc, even when the basic premise of every episode is "stand alone".
I'm starting to get worried. This was the fourth episode and still not much Reid....it seems he is mostly in the background giving an opinion here and there. I understand that other characters need more development...and maybe each episode could focus on one of the characters...... giving a little more background on each....but seeing so little of Reid has me discouraged. I no longer look foward to Criminal Minds the way I used to. Hopefully, after Elle is gone, we'll start seeing more of Reid. He is the reason why I got so hooked in the first place.
Right now, I'm really enjoying watching Prison Break. Wentworth Miller (who is really cute!!) plays Michael Scofield a genious who breaks his brother from jail.
What can I say??? I have a soft spot for geniuses!!!!!![]()
We just have to be patient, that's all.
Although I have to admit that, indeed, at this point when Reid starts receiving a little more star treatment in a future episode I might do a happy dance. We can't get discouraged yet! (not that I haven't experienced a little discouragement myself, but then again...with my work/school schedule, this is that point in the semester when I physically feel like I've been hit by a bus, so I'm in a perpetually tired and crabby mood. It hasn't taken much to push my buttons when it comes to this show because I've come to truly care about it)
Let's face it. With Lola leaving and Padget replacing her, the dynamics of the team and the show itself are in a state of limbo until everything's finally done with! I've decided to accept the inevitable wierdness this transition period has induced with as much grace as possible, and in the meantime be happy for, well, whatever the heck I can be happy about! ![]()
Guys, at least Reid's not leaving! Even if he hasn't been the main character lately, at least we can be secure in the knowledge that he's still around; therefore, those of us who enjoy the opportunity to grin stupidly at him just when he appears on screen can keep on grinning stupidly. (lol)

I couldn't agree more ![]()

| I sure do hope he does not wear those unflattering glasses the entire rest of the time. : |

I couldn't agree more. The glasses just don't suit his face. (why would you want to hide that face behind glasses?) |

| Sorry, I've never heard of Hill Valley. We may disagree on the glasses, but I read your last message post, and I feel the same way. Matthew Gray Gubler is so sexy, I would also be content just watching him sit and do nothing. |
