ok so let me start off to say this i am a huge criminal minds fan i am beyond obssed and also to say this is only my 2 time posting anything on tv.com
so this ep was prob rated at 7.5 for me. i dont like strauss one bit and i thaught the plot and the characters were confusing and i was never really able to get into the story for that reason. i was also disapointed bc in the info for the ep it says hotch and morgan get into a fight i beleve and to me it was wimpy! morgan siad some things to hotch than hotch said some things back and morgna walked away! i persoanlly was exspecting after everything morgan has held in through this season and the end of season 6 for morgan to yell at lot more and express more feeling! hopefully this doesent go away bc i feel like morgan is holding alot more inside and than 2 of all WHAT THE HECK! i was looking forward for one of the characters to be in jepordy to me that means life on the line or summtin compleatly to go wrong! i was thinking reid or jj or even prentiss woukld be shot held hostage or summtin other than struss to have a drinking proublem that only 2 peoplke know about (as far as we know) so as i was aying not a very hapy criminal minds fan! please tell me the old profiling will come back and things will get better!

I think Morgan got his office at the end of "The Eyes Have It" I believe. I could be wrong about the episode but I don't think he ever came back to the bullpen.
I actually quite enjoyed this episode. I thought in the beginning that it was Josh and here we go again with the unsub right from the beginning but it ended up not being that way which was a pleasant surprise for me. There wasn't a lot of profiling but I can live with that occasionally.
I, too expected a bit more of the "Morgan and Hotch butt heads" thing and it was a surprise that the team member in jeopardy was Strauss. She never strikes me as one of the team. I wonder if this was what was being alluded to at the end of season 6 when she had to take some time off and at the beginning of the season when she was popping mints in "It Takes a Village".
Of course I would have liked more Reid but I can't have everything.
Why do I feel like I´ve seen this episode before? The buildings, the case and even some of the military people felt really familiar to me.
Anyone else got that feeling? Don´t get me wrong, I liked the episode, but it just felt like I´d already seen it a long time ago.
I absolutely loved this episode. I think it was the best one so far this season. I guessed that the colonel was guilty but could not figure out how, why and who else was involved until the end. The twists and turns were great suspense. I really got lost in the story.
I also was surprised by Strauss's issue. There was some reason she had to go away last season. I never expected it to be because of drinking. But it is certainy credible. I thought the ending with Hotch confronting her with Morgan and Morgan escorting her out was fantastic. Even though Hotch and Morgan had a bit of a disagreement, it was great to see them do the deed together. Morgan's issue with Hotch is understandable, given the secrecy with Emily and I thought it got opened nicely. I hope this was a little teaser and that we will see more of Hotch and Morgan working on this together in future episodes. I hope it gets resolved in another episode too.
With Strauss going to rehab (I am assuming) Hotch has a chance to become Director at least temporarily and Morgan can be team leader again. I think it opens the door for lots of role variations for the future. I feel excited about the next episode to see what the writers will do with this.
Again...loved this episode. Thanks.
I found the case storyline didn't really grip me tonight. It was good, just doesn't stack up to some of the other awesome episodes CM has had before.
The Strauss arc really came out of left-field for me...just didn't see that one coming. I guess I was expecting the storyline of her needing the time away to have to deal with cancer or something along those lines, not a drinking problem. I do find it believable, however since she's a recurring character, we're not going to be able to see the signs or symptons as we would if she were a primary character. I really thought the "intervention" with Hotch and Morgan at the end was terrific. Given the history between Strauss and them and knowing that Hotch had prior knowledge of her problem, it could have turned out differently. Once Morgan knew her secret that "cat would be out of the bag" and Hotch could her basically toss her under the bus, so to speakand ruinher career. Instead, they are seeing that she gets help. Awesome amount of compassion out of those characters.
Has it occurred to anyone just how many secrets or how much Hotch knows about everyone and everything? That man is carryingaround a lot on his shoulders.I thought about the Reid comment in The Fisher King about how everyone tells him (Reid) their secrets because they know he doesn't have anyone else to tell them to. I think Hotch is really the one that knows everything about everyone.
Thanks for letting me share my 2-cents worth.

I watch this with a few other people. we all agreed this is one of the worse episode of the series. it wasn't the actors fault. terribly directed & edited episode. melodrama was so over done I thought I was watching a high school special on PBS.

I just knew no one in the main core would be in danger. It just seemed like they were going to twist it somehow and they did. This wasn't my favorite episode but it was a switch up on what we are used to. Given that I suspect there won't be many like it. I did however like the ending. It's about time someone took Strauss down a notch. Having to deal with a parent who is an alcoholic I think they showed that she is a bit human. More than often they tend to go off and on the wagon. It seems she is no different. I wonder though how the team may change with the prospect of her possibly not being above Hotch. That is what concerns me more.

Morgan got to keep his office. This is appropriate since he was, and maybe still is, doing part of Hotch's paperwork. This means Hotch should trust him and I believe he does. He picked Morgan to run his beloved team after all. I think Hotch would not talk about anyone's drug problem to someone else, As Long as he thought they were Getting the Help the needed. And he told Morgan she was. Does he run around telling everyone about Reid's drug problems?
He had to include Morgan in the intervention because Morgan was upset with him for not telling, because he needed a witness, and he needed help with Strauss. And Morgan already knew there was a problem Personally I am glad to see how the mighty have fallen. Hotch offered to help her before and as usual she is so dumb about people she wouldn't take him up on it. She could never have been a field agent; typical desk jockey.
To add some more:
I thought this was the best episode they'd had since season 5. It may not have been the best, but that just goes to show how bad season 6 was. It does seem to be getting some of its groove back, but there is still too much unsub. Previously, only about two shows a year focused on the unsub and they were usually my least favorite. They focused on Josh in this one and made you think he must be the unsub and yet you felt there was something wrong with that idea at the same time and there was. So that at least made a nice twist to all the unsub scenes we have had this season and last.
I loved Josh saluting the colonel as they put him in the car under arrest. That reaction was a very nice touch.
But I have somewhere else to be on Wednesday nights and I record CM. I have been very grateful for that. And even now I am having to fast forward over too much unsub. Too Much.
