Ms. Williams has primarily portrayed strong female characters, in series such as The Practice, and Lie To Me. It was interesting, therefore, to watch the wounded, confused, and grieving mother, that she played in this episode. The story, I felt, would have benefited from a more linear narrative, instead of flashbacks. But it became apparent that the woman felt guilt and rage at the death of her son. These were irrational thoughts, resulting in her senselessly killing people she encountered.
At intervals, during this plot, each of the agents meet with Hotch to discuss their feelings about the death of Emily Prentiss. During these scenes I couldn't help but feel for Hotch, who had his fair share of tragedy this season.
