The unsub in this episode, Darrin Call, was named after Erica Messer's friend from college, Aaron Call. Erica and Aaron attended a sociology class taught by Dr. Charlie Cipolla. The name of another friend, Tim Cureton, is mentioned when Darrin Call is at the door of the Sterner House.
