It is revealed in this episode that JJ's baby is a boy.
Morgan: We're conditioned to feel fear. The hairs on the back of our neck? They tell us the truth.
Morgan: What the hell is scaring you?
Reid: This boy is gonna die and there's nothing I can do to stop it.
Reid: Doctor Norman gave me permission to sleep on the couch in your room tonight if... if it's all right with you.
Diana Reid: (glares at the doctor) If anyone tries to keep him in here any longer, I'll scratch your eyes out.
Doctor Norman: One night only.
Diana Reid: (to Reid) Helps if they think you're crazy. They don't argue.
Reid: (walking down the stairs and seeing a man kneeling by the washer) FBI! Put your hands in the air. (the man stands up slowly and reveals a dead boy) Show me your face. (the man turns around with his hands in the air) Dad?
Diana Reid: I'm proud of you, Spencer.
Reid: For what?
Diana Reid: Saving that boy.
Reid: (looking confused) How'd you know?
Diana Reid: I told you. A mother knows.
Reid: Hotch, do you think it would be possible to wait until tomorrow to return home?
Hotchner: (to Morgan) Do you think you could find something to do in Vegas for the night? (Morgan contemplates then question, then grins.)
Diana Reid: (to Reid) Don't lie to your mother, Spencer. We know. We feel things.
Rossi: Not exactly a well-preserved scene.
Prentiss: It's the crime scene investigators. They all want to play cop instead of just being scientists, and they end up trampling on everything.
Morgan (to Reid): You wanna know what I really believe? I believe you coulda done anything in the world with your life and you chose to do this job. Your man Carl Jung says our unconscious is the key to our life's pursuits.
Reid: Bob Dylan once said, "I think the truly natural things are dreams, which nature can't touch with decay."
Hotchner: Amos Bronson Alcott said, "Who speaks to the instincts speaks to the deepest in mankind, and finds the readiest response."
Reid: Freud's been discredited, but Jung still has his merits.
The song heard at the end of the episode is "Shelter From the Storm" by Bob Dylan.
