Body Suspension

Aired Wednesday 10:00 PM Aug 03, 2005 on A&E

  • Trivia

    • Criss had originally wanted to fly over the Las Vegas strip.
They had trouble finding a location that would allow them to perform this stunt.
Criss never took any painkillers for any of his body suspensions.

    • Criss was suspended for 5 hours and 42 minutes. He hung from 8 eight-gage fish hooks: six in his back and two in his legs. Criss holds the world record for longest body suspension of that kind. This posistion is called "Superman".
This was his first public stunt.

    • Dave Baram and Simon Millar are also producers of Mindfreak.

    • The music playing during Criss' "flight" is Korn, Right Now from the album Take A Look In The Mirror.

Actually, Right Now was played before his actual ascent - Criss requested Korn when he was trying to overcome the pain & use mind over matter while swinging on the scaffolding in preparation for the actual event. Alone I Break, from Untouchables is what plays when he's actually in flight over the valley.

    • Dave Baram and Simon Millar, Criss' managers, both make an on-camera appearance in this episode.

    • Criss' girlfriend is named JoAnn.

  • Quotes

    • Simon Millar: Criss Angel is an artist and he's going to keep pushing the boundaries until the day he dies. Which hopefully won't be on this show.

    • Criss: I've worked my whole life in trying to create an art form that would please me and hopefully, in turn please others. And I hope that they have an appreciation in a sense of my work ethic and my passion. Whether they love me or hate me.

    • Cameraman: What are the safety measures?
J.D.: What safety measures? What safety measures…there is no safety measures, he's hanging by stupid fishhooks. There is no safety. What safety? There is no safety.

    • Costa: Of course [Criss] can't do it six feet off the ground, he's gotta do it from a helicopter.
