For once Jordan is trying to help clear someoneelse. THis episode was really great. The chemistry between woody and jordan is undeniable. The episode showed how much jordan cares for woody and what she is willing to do to help him. Obviously now, everyone around the pair has realized the connection between them if the new DA thinks jordan has a conflict of interest because of her 'relationship' with Det.Hoyt. It was a turning point for jordan. SHe didn't just think about herself, she actually cared and helped someone else. The ending was fantastic with them dancing to Dirty Water.moreless

    • Jordan: (To Woody) Is this a Wisconsin thing...sucking guilt out of thin air?

    • Jordan: (About Woody being there) He was delivering a bag of doughnuts.

    • Jordan: Who the hell are you?!?
Thaxton: Well dear, I could ask you the same question, couldn't I?
      Jordan: You could try!

    • Jordan: (to Woody) Us against them.

    • Jordan: What conflict of interest?
Renee: Your relationship with Detective Hoyt.
Jordan: A, we do not have a relationship and B, gees I wonder where that slick in the suit got his information.

    • Jordan: (to Woody) I would have missed you, you bring a certain charm to the occasion.

    • Woody: Jordan. Thank you.
Jordan: Well I kind of owe you one…or six.

    • Jordan: Uh huh. Yeah. And how do you suggest I do that?
Woody: Oh I don't know. Umm. You're pretty good at breaking and entering. I've seen you do it a number of times.

    • Woody: You should be ashamed of yourself Max. I know what you're about to tell me. You're about to tell me to back off. That Jordan is a handful of trouble and I should just keep on moving without stopping.
Max: Well I was actually going to tell you I was glad things worked out the way they did. But you might want to listen to the little voice inside your head.

  • NOTES (2)

  • ALLUSIONS (2)

    • When Bug and Lily are trying to figure out where Gary Staines had been, they used an electronic "sniffer" called the "Cyranose 320." This is an allusion to Cyrano de Bergerac, who, in the works of fiction about his life, is portrayed with an exceptionally large nose.

    • The title of this episode is an allusion to the 1999 movie titled, Payback. The movie starred Kris Kristofferson and Mel Gibson. In the plot of this movie, the hero is shot by his wife and best friend and is left to die.
