Crossing Jordan

Another strong episode, but don't understand why dr Macey is going out with this DA after all the things she said.

Does anybody know the singer of the song: I Wanna Be Your Man (soundtrack version)? I could not find it...

I liked this episod because it had some twists I didn't see coming, which in other series like cold cases is totally unbelievable, no cop can solve cases that quickly. That's why I think that it is one of the strong points of this serie that you can never predict the outcome. Don't know why this sort of series do not go on for more than 6 seasons...

Jordan is called to do jury duty in a cop killer case.

The prosecution has a video tape of the cop and the guy fighting before the murder.



After 10 minutes at the jury room,they all vote guilty but Jordan. She wants to see the autopsy report.



After that, she starts having doubts about the case. The autopsy was a mess and Macy exhumes the body, without Jordan knowing.



Jordan keeps asking for the evidence and at some point two other juries vote Not-Guilty. She keeps discussing it with the jury and at the outside Macy , Woody and Nigel manage to analyze the tape and find the defendant had a gun, they find the gun but is not the one that killed the cop.



At court, Jordan manages to change all votes and the guy is declared Not Guilty for the cops murderer. On the tape, Nigel finds a reflexion of a third car, the cops' father car. He is the one who killed the cop because his gambling addiction. Jordan on jury duty, of course it would take much more time...

One of the best episodes I have seen. With a story line shadowing that of the play and movie "12 Angry Men", Jordan must convince her fellow jurors that the prosecution’s case has too many holes in it to send a man to his death for killing a cop. This will be difficult considering there is damning videotape of the officer pulling over (and wrestling with) the defendant shortly before he is shot. My favorite quote is Jordan speaking to her fellow jurors: “I don’t know whether Ainsworth did it or not. That’s the whole point. There’s no category for innocent. It’s just guilty and not guilty. And if the evidence doesn’t add up beyond a reasonable doubt, we have to vote not guilty regardless of how we feel about it.”

For the sake of our justice system, lets be thankful that not everyone knows so much about forensics as Jordan or we would never see anyone convicted.

I've seen way too many shows with the whole "main character on the jury voting not guilty when everyone else says guilty." I've never really liked these episodes, but this one was different. I loved it.



Jordan on jury duty, we all know that it's not gonna be easy with her around. Jordan seems convinced that the defendant is innocent, because the evidence just doesn't add up. She tries to prove it & even had Dr. Macy re-open the investigation and re-examine the body.



This causes some problems between Garret (who thinks Jordan may be right) & the Assistant D.A who doesn't like Jordan. (Maybe she's jealous of her?).

Garret: Jordan, next time you’re called for jury duty let your shrink know. I’m sure there’s a reason you should be excused.

Jordan: Wow. Did you mean to call me a nut job or are you just crabby?
