"Superb"

Crownies continues to please. With strong characters and interesting cases, the show is quickly becoming a favourite.
Clearly, the producers have found excellent writers and each week thus far they've produced slick episodes which manage to range from heartbreaking to funny to comforting within each episode. Between the cases, which pleasingly vary from single-episode cases to multi-episode cases, and the intriguing and varied characters, there is a very satisfying mix of humour and drama.
Though obviously certain aspects of the show have been heightened for the sake of story-telling (no case would every go to court and be resolved that quickly!) there is a strong sense of realism in the cases and characters, and the general feel of the offices.
The casting is excellent, the acting supreme and even the characters you can hate one moment you can feel empathy for the next.
If the cast, crew and the ABC can keep the quality of this show up, they could be in for a winner.moreless

"Superb"

I just caught up with the first four episodes of this show and now have a new show I love.
It's well made, researched and written. I worked for 13 years in the Crown Prosecutors office in Brisbane and this has the 'feel' of the environment. Of course, in real life cases don't unfold and quickly, nor do they appear before a judge so fast, but the general ambience is definitely there, although their offices are definitely nicer than the one I worked in ;).
All in all, a good cast with diverse characters and believable plots - starting with the Attorney General scandal turned into a full criminal investigation/witch hunt!
It's not Law and Order where the sole focus of each episode is on the crime, more the actions and reaction of the cast around one or two cases.
With luck it won't degenerate into a soap. On past experience with ABC shows though, the show will maintain it's integrity.
The first 4 episodes certainly kept up the pace.moreless
