    • TRIVIA (2)

      • When Dureena goes down to the planet alone, the view of the planet through the shuttle window shows a view from space of... Eastern Canada. However, this is supposed to be an alien planet.

      • In the episode, it's stated that Robert Black, Brian Thompson's character, was a GROPOS (infantry soldier) who fought during the Battle of the Line. The Battle of the Line was a space battle fought as a last attempt to save the Earth. How exactly would a trained infantryman fight in a space battle? Garibaldi was originally an infantryman in the Babylon Five series and used a fighter a few times. However, he must have received special training as exemplified by the the shuttle flights on Mars that he captained.

    • QUOTES (7)

      • Max: The Orion system. Theta 49. Looks incredibly dull.
Gideon: This order came directly from Earthforce.
Max: Well, that would explain the dull part.
Gideon: If this isn't a planet that IPX can exploit for profit, then maybe this is your cue to take a vacation.
Max: IPX doesn't give paid holidays.
Gideon: For a cause like this, I think we'd all happily chip in.

      • Gideon: The tests were conducted on rats. How do I know it's going to work on me?
Dureena: Well, to answer that, we'd have to figure out the difference between a rat and a starship captain. And... well, I don't think we have that much time.

      • Max: I just do what I am told. The cooperation knows all, sees all, and tells very little. If we make a bad call, we can honestly say that we have acted in good conscience based on the information available. Absolution in absentia. The blessed state of being able to say, "It's not my fault."

      • Chambers: (examining contaminated garbage) I could have been the Chief Medic on the science vessel, the Olympus. But no... I chose this mission because it was honorable, commendable, important. Eww. And this is how I'm helping humanity.

      • Max: I was just reading a bit of Canterbury Tales to amuse myself. Chaucer, you know. Another astute individual.
        Gideon: Why, thank you.
Max: Who said that I was comparing him to you?

      • Gideon: Granted, I'm a bit eccentric as captains go...
        Dureena: Yeah, you gamble.
        Gideon: Well, yeah.
        Dureena: Yeah, you cheat.
        Gideon: That's subjective.
Dureena: You never tell anyone the whole truth.
        Gideon: And who does?
        Dureena: All right.

      • Chambers: You were right. About doubling our efforts. I'll do everything I can for your people. I swear it on my life.
Dureena: No. Swear it on theirs.

    • NOTES (2)

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • Max: I was just reading a bit of Canterbury Tales to amuse myself.
Referencing the collection of stories written by Geoffrey Chaucer near the end of the 14th century. The medieval stories are told within the framing tale of a group of pilgrims in competition for a free meal.
