Goof: If the cannon was made out of pure gold, Crusoe and Friday wouldn't be able to move it. A regular cannon (8ft, 2.4m) made out of bronze would approximately weigh about 1000 lb (450kg). If the cannon were made out of pure gold it would at least weigh about 2000lb (900kg).
