    • Brass: How're you doin'?
Sofia: I'm going a little crazy.
      Brass: It's the waiting.
      Sofia: Yeah.
Brass: You know, I've been suspended or disciplined like six or seven times and it's always the same, waiting. What you never forget is that a police officer lost his life.
Sofia: I've seen it so many times I don't know if it's even real or not. Jim, it's like he's looking at me as if-- as if he knew.
Brass: Sofia, you gotta get that outta your head, that's poison.
Sofia: Tell me you're not thinkin' about it.
Brass: Oh, no, I'm thinkin', I'm thinking about a lot of stuff. (Sofia notices the TV and it has what happened to Bell on) Let me tell ya somethin', you know, when I was a young cop in Jersey there was this kid responding to a shots fired, jumped outta the radio car, never knew what hit him. I was the first officer on scene, patrolling too. You know, it tore up the department pretty good, everybody was all twisted but we managed somehow, and I don't know, got through it some way.
      Sofia: Who shot him?
      Brass: It really doesn't matter.
Sofia: It does matter. I could see Bell's face when I was shooting. Which means, I--I was shooting near him. I made a mistake I never should've fired.
Brass: Oh, come on it was chaos. We were responding to the situation. (Sofia sees two patrol cops come in. One whispers in the other's ear and the one glares at Sofia then)
Sofia: I'm always going to be the cop who shot a cop.
