  • weird episode..

So, this wants to be the season finale? It was weird and somehow quite slow episode.. I mean, maybe not slow but boring, sorry - the story just did not caught me. I usually have loved CSI season finals but this one was really weird.

First I am not sure what their story was.. what they wanted to show - the irony of those chips and how much trouble they brought or develop little more Langston's char. In the last part, they did make even little success and for me that standoff between Langston and Riley was good, but the whole case... those people, the story. I really did not get the point, it did not caught my attention and it looked weird.

What is going on? What is happening to this formerly great show? It's so sad to watch it become like some shell. And it's not Grissom leaving. It's not Langston's fault. It's the writing and the stories they've been coming up with. Some are good but most are lacking some sparkle. Enough with the strange stuff. Give us back the old school. Sure hope they can pull it back up and make it better. Maybe they should go back and watch the first three seasons? This finale was the worst ever. Boring and confusing and who cared about the ending? So predictable. Meeh.
  • Did they air the wrong episode? Because this is not how a CSI finale should be.......

In this episode of CSI, the following happens. We open this season finales with a dead body being discovered in the desert. We also see that Nick is away on a course for a week, so that he can become our new "bug man". Basically the whole episode comes down to some old casino chips from back in the 1980's. When Langston is told "I could have shot you" by Riley, was I the only one saying "God I wish you had!" We learn that the chips were discovered in the ground at an old building. They started handing them out as gifts. Someone wanted some chips and when they went back to collect the rest of the chips, they were gone. They went to see the man they believe took them and h shot both of them, killing the victim who was found in the dessert and seriously injuring the other (who later had to have part of his leg removed). At the end of the episode Langston gets shot at, but he doesn't get hit and kills the suspect who is shooting at him. Overall there was no kick to this season finale. All I can say is the writers of this episode should watch the finale for CSI New York, because that is how a CSI finale should be.
  • Good episode...not a season finale.

I wish that people would stop being so hard on this show. It's not bad, but I realize that a lot of us have high expectations about what a good episode of CSI should be like. I think the ending of this episode was interesting, what with Ray having his first kill (the doctor, who swears to "never do harm to anyone" is forced to take a life), but overall, and especially compared to past season finales, this episode was just...good. I was expecting something more-epic isn't really the right word, but it's all I can think of right now. I mean, think of finales like Grave Danger, or, for example, the finale of season 8. CSI is a crime show, and the writers need to expect more from their viewers, and hit us with a clever twist. LOST it up, dudes. (Not too much, though.)

This was an okay episode but it was nothing like what I was hoping for. Like many others though, I am getting very tired of the focus on Langston, and I'm seriously starting to waiver. We get that Langston is the new toy for the writers, but seriously, he dominated the mile marker 200th episode and now he dominated to finale too. Not to mention over half of the episodes for the last half of the season. I'm just getting really tired of seeing his face. I want to see Nick, and Catherine, and Greg get more focus. We've learned more about Langston in one half of one season than we have of Greg for all 9 seasons combined. Why not share some of the spotlight a little?
  • The ninth season ends with the team investigating a series of killings which seem to be connected by, of all things, a cache of old casino chips believed to have been destroyed over twenty years ago.

"All In" is a good episode, but not fantastic. It's almost surprising the the producers of "CSI" would end the ninth season with a whimper and not a bang. This episode also had a bit of predictablity. As soon as Reilly harshly criticised Dr. Langston for rushing to help the wounded suspect, I knew that something was going to happen which would force Langston to shoot somebody. I wish it was not so obvious. There are also no standout performances here. The main cast does a good job as usual, but that's all. A mediocre ending to a solid season.

I thought this ep was good, but nowhere near good enough to be the season finale! The case was ok but not "on the edge of your seat" like a finale should be. I didn't like that Langston seemed to be in the spotlight AGAIN, in my opinion that is getting a little bit ridiculous! And what is up with Nick Stokes being in only ONE scene, COME ON, it is the season finale, had that happened in the middle of the season it would have been ok, but not for the last ep of the year! I have liked the last several season finale of CSI much better! This season the premeire definately was better than the finale! I still love this show and no doubt will watch it next season I was just disappointed with the finale! I also still miss, Grissom, Sara, and Warrick a great deal as well! hopefully they bring Grissom and Sara back ASAP! Here is to hoping that the season 10 premeire is better than the season 9 finale!
  • Good episode, run of the mill standard stuff, but no season closer.

This episode was good. CSI seems to be getting back to the better episodes on a more consistent basis in the latter half of the season. I thought Langston was good in this episode, however I think that Nick should feature more in the episodes. The last few have been good, but Nick needs to feature more. The plot about the chips was good, but this is just a standard episode, not a season closer. CSI is still very much reeling from Pietersen, Fox and Dourdan's exits. Getting back to the episode though, it kinda dragged on a bit in places. Catherine was better in this episode than in previous ones, oh yeah and she's hot in that baseball cap (opening scene in the desert). Overall a good episode but definitely not a season closer. CSI New York tops it by miles this year. That show just gets better all the time.
  • A season finale that was just like every other episode.

I was a little disappointed about this season finale. Being a fan of the franchise I was expecting more. In watching the previews I thought it would be a little bit more intense but halfway through it was pretty much like any other episode. The plot was interesting enough but it wasn't spectacular. The case of chasing some old casino chips was oh hum and the build up regarding the shoot not to shoot between Riley and Ray was just over done. I felt the only truly intense scene was Ray searching the garage alone and that was only because of you knew what was coming. Overall, all right, not great.
  • "CSI: Langston" Season 1 Finale.

    6.5
    "Fair"
Alright, this was good for a normal episode, or maybe even an okay sweep episode, but NOT a season finale. Okay CSI, we know Langston is your new star, great. But he's the new CSI, he doesn't know everything, and he definitely doesn't know more than the rest of the team. But apparently he's the only one who matters. Greg does Archie's job now, Catherine is like Langston's sidekick, and Nick just completely leaves.

While I'm glad Catherine got to do something, I don't understand why she's not more prominent since she's in charge now. And Nick leaving made absolutely no sense. Was the actor sick? I mean, because otherwise, he could have just as easily left for that bug conference thing at the end of the episode rather than the beginning. At least Wendy and Hodges got some CSI action -- maybe they'll be CSI's soon? Hmm.

The case itself was pretty cool, and stayed pretty interesting and fresh. I liked how suspicion kept falling on the old poker chip seller dude. I couldn't care less about the end though, with Langston shooting that guy. It just didn't do it for me. Okay great, his first kill. I sort of wished Langston was the one who died though. That was really the only dramatic part of the episode, as the case wasn't a gut-wrencher. CSI has done many MUCH better season premieres and finales, which is why I think this one is so disappointing. Hopefully the upcoming fall premiere will get the show out of this funk, because I'm losing faith in one of my old-time favorites, and I can't stick around forever.
  • stop trying to hard... interesting story but...

This episode had some promise, but they just had to make it stupid. Although the story was interesting, the character interactions left something to be desired.

I never really liked Riley, but i found her pleasantly easy to ignore. Until now, where does she get off yelling at langston? oh wait that's something sarah used to do. get on her high horse with her co-workers. It was annoying then and its annoying when the newb does it too. If she is a higher level CSI, she should address him as a mentor, not as someone with a stick up her but. Proving her "point" at the end of the episode, just makes me angry. yes Ray's disarming of the subject was incorrect, that's why you have a supervisor.

i think this episode is funny mostly and i'm glad that they didn't go over the top like they did with episode 200. I think they should continue to just let the story come and not try to be gimmicky.

i also find it odd that no one is ever in their respective lab nemore... i skipped a couple of episodes because i couldn't sit through them but that seems odd to me.
  • Unusually for CSI not a particularily special season finale. Pretty mundane if i have to say and was generally disappointed. I genuinely didn't realise that it was supposed to be a season finale. More like a filler.

We've had some right belters of series finales in the past, Nick being buried alive, Sara being trapped under a car under threat of drowning, but sadly this felt a lot like a filler episode. Not particularily outstanding, no big exciting twists. Just a pretty mundane episode like the ones that fill the gaps between the amazing storylines.

There was a point where i thought Ray Langston could be victim to a massive cliff hanger of a season finale but sadly it wasnt to be. I really hope CSI aren't getting complacent because they're almost automatically renewed. Hopefully William Peterson will bring something amazing to the production side of things.
  • I didn't even know this was the finale. For weeks I have been wondering when they were going to air the finale. It wasn't til I just read other reviews on this site that I found out we had already seen the finale.

I didn't even know this was the finale. For weeks I have been wondering when they were going to air the finale. It wasn't til I just read other reviews on this site that I found out we had already seen the finale. I am not against Langston here and Grissom gone but the show has really taken a turn for the worse. Yes I am sad Grissom is gone but really that's not the reason I have lost interest in this once Great show. This season finale episode could have been placed anywhere in this season's episode line-up it's that insignificant. What in this episode made it a season finale? After watching this episode what makes me want to come back after the off season to find out what happens? Nothing!!! There was no suspense or no cliff hanger...absolutely nothing to grab me and make me want more next season. The writers really need to step it up before this show meets its maker. Its as though the writers have realized there isn't much of a show without the original characters and they too have written the show off. They are just going through the motions til the end. Its a shame!!!
  • Season Finale? No way!!

this was the most disappointing ends to a season of CSI i have watched. CSI's finales up to this point had been great, each exciting and unique. This was a pile of crap. Espically when it followed a great episode "hog heaven" This case didn't make sense. It wasn't interesting, it was just plain boring. I think they should have done a 2 part episode and continued with the biker story, that had potential. It is the first time i have given a CSI episode a 5.5, i've never given it below a 8.5. I personally think that the decision to kill of Warrick and then get rid of Grissom was a mistake. Grissom was CSI, i hope in the next season they're are some episode where he guest stars. CSI has gone downhill and without Grissom it's not the same anymore. The writers were probably drunk when they came up with this, terrible.

the case alone for an opener is good. the climps into the future at the bein of the show means a great episode and great season. great twist about other murder. espcially 'Saraha' coming back REALY GREAT. need to see some more of the old cast. defenatily good for the show. 'men in black' guys really interesting they fit great into the show. cant belive bum turned out to be father body. defenatily great twist. two cases mix with one which makes GREAT episode. great little luaghs of comedy at the end. also great to see 'nick' is getting up in the world on CSI crew. let hope he staye on the show. also cant wait to see what happened after show ended. wonderin now why they made it to continued for next week. cant wait to fiugure that out.

I been a fan for years now and I must say this finale is the weakest!!! I was so disappointed. There is nothing to look forward on the next season - if there will be a next season. The writer and entire production team must be thinking of ways to redeem themselves from this embarrassment. Damn I didn't even understand what it's all about… I was expecting like a "grave danger" like ending or Catherine being poisoned but this? Very Poor. I really wish that this will be turned around on the next season, They should also review their casting, losing 3 seasoned characters are really something.
