  • A race against time - both to find a bomber and exonerate a guilty-looking Nick Stokes!

Two great storylines in one episode.

A briefcase bomb explodes in an office building, killing a security guard. Another security guard wants to help Gil find who killed his buddy, but shows a worryingly precise knowledge of everything bomb related. Could he really be involved? Stephen Lee puts in a brilliant performance as the amateur bomb-maker, who could be just brilliant or could be, as Gil puts it, just nuts. His character is a mix of childlike wonder and pathos, with just enough humour.

The investigation is painstaking - and it's a little worrying that so much information about bomb making is given out! - but I like the way one piece of evidence leads to another, then to a suspect, then to a twist and finally to a really sad scene, that I guess I knew was coming from the start.

In the other story, Nick meets up with prostitute Kristi again when he helps her out as she's being harrassed by another guy. Understandably but stupidly he gives in to his libido and they end up having sex. Next day she's found murdered and Nick is the prime suspect. Ecklie reveals just how horribly oily and thoroughly nasty he is. He'd love to put Nick away. It seems deeply unfair that, just by being arrested, even if he's later cleared, his career would have been over. Whatever happened to innocent until PROVEN guilty?

Anyway it's left to Catherine to find a way of clearing him

Definitely up there with the best of CSI.

An absolutely brilliant episode, very intense and catching storyline, with a really good cast and good set! 9.8 stars / 10 stars! The best episode upto yet in the series! Plus this is why CSI is so successful and so highly watched! An absolutely brilliant episode, very intense and catching storyline, with a really good cast and good set! 9.8 stars / 10 stars! • Hate it when this happens..

I knew from the beginning that our security guard wasn't the suspect. Not trying to brag, definitely not. They probably made it very obvious that he wasn't the evil guy. Who would be so open about his bomb knowledge, and offer to help out the CSI team trying to find out who planted the bomb that he planted.

It's 5am and I just finished watching this episode, and I must say, it was to be expected. I knew he would die. I knew he was going to try and be a hero, to try and prove himself without hesitation. And that's precisely what got him killed..

Did you notice there were two upcoming stars in this episode? The bomb maker's father and the sheriff. Both star in 24, even though the dad has a significantly larger role (President of the US) than the sheriff (Head of the.. well something.)

Great to see them working on the same episode far before 24. :)
  • One of the best!

I watched this episode for the first time last night on the DVD set I ordered from Netflix. This was such a great episode and well acted by George. I loved to see him get some action. I am so glad Cathrine saved his a**. I don't like the moroning guys at all they are all jerks. I haven't seen the whole series but this is in my top 2 of the best. Hope you all enjoyed it. I think one of the reasons I liked this episode so much is because I love Nick Stokes. He is so cute.

    Another fabulous episode.

A bomb goes off in an office building killing a security guard. Grissom, Sara & Warrick investigate & the chief suspect is a security guard who left just before the bomb went off and he also makes his own bombs at home & blows them up. While he's being held in custody another bomb goes off proving that it wasn't him.

Nick helps his prostitute friend again. And after giving in to his passion, she is found dead the next morning. Nick is a suspect and to make it worse, Ecklie has the case. Catherine has 12 hours to prove that Nick is innocent before the sheriff arrests him & his carreer as a CSI is over.
