  • While making their rounds in church late one night two nuns find a dead woman tied to a cross hanging from the church rafters. During the course of the investigation it is revealed that a priest at the church may not be keeping his vows.

I enjoyed this episode and I liked how it came together at the end but I can't say it's one of my favorites because it was just a little too preachy for me. Some of the dialouge was well written ("He's a Catholic! They're full of guilt!"), but other times I felt like I was watching Real Time with Bill Maher with all of the religous debates between the characters. It almost felt like the writers of the episode wanted to release their pent up feelings about organized religion. Not a terrible episode, but there have been better ones.

  • Nuns, a crucifixtion, an old friendship bewteen 2 guys and a girl, and rosary beads. Not as daring as it could have been, but still a good episode.

OK - so first off I thought that Meredith Monroe played the cutest nun - maybe not the most believeable - but the cutest. There were a couple of points there I thought she was sleeping with Father Frank. Poor girl, when she tried to take the fall for the murder because she thought he killed Charlotte? Um, sweetie, if you think your priest has killed someone you have bigger problems than your school girl crush and wanting to take the blame.

I liked the friendship between Charlotte/Frank/Cody - but things never go well when you have a beautiful young woman trying to be friends with two young men. Dawson\'s Creek comes to mind (probably because of Meredith). But it was good. Only thing I wish was that we proved that Father Frank never slept with Charlotte, at least not yet. Silly car dealership man. Good salesman, bad husband and father. Couldn\'t he sell himself better to Charlotte? Did she know the baby was Cody\'s and not Frank\'s. I almost felt sorry for him when Sophia pointed out that the baby was his, almost. Where do you get the idea to crucify someone like that? So he deserves to be put away for a very long time.

Look at Greg all itching to be back out in the field. His poor face still all bruised. I just wanted to kiss it better. Good to see the whole team working on one case. Funny how Greg got out in the field and Sara only got to be there when they brought in Cody, and his boots, and his vest. Liked Warrick and Nick working together. Sara & Grissom were sweet together, as usual, he called her \"dear\", she invaded his personal space, it\'s all good in GSR world. Catherine lighting the candle for Sam was a nice touch. All in all a good episode - not as gournd breaking as they wanted us to think from the previews - just good, classic CSI with the team working together to figure out who killed the girl - the used car dealer or the priest? I wish I was in the writer\'s room when they presented that idea. Wait, you want to crucify a girl in a church, have her be pregnant, and the baby might be the priest\'s? Yes. So she has to choose between the old friend who took her to prom when her boyfriend left her for seminary school, her sugar daddy who may actually be a daddy now or the priest. Yep, but don\'t forget, the priest was her old high school boyfriend. Ok, sounds great. Can we have a couple of nuns find the body? Sure, they can think it\'s a miracle. OK, but one of them has to be cute and perky. Get writing!\"

Sigh, no new episode next week. Sigh.
  • DEAR! :D :D :D

Loved the episode, especially all of the GSR..but I'll get to that later.

The case was interesting, and held my attention throughout the entire thing. I thought that one of the nuns did it, so I was surprised when it was really the car dealer. As soon as Grissom pointed out that she weighed too little to hoist the body, I realized that it was either the priest or the car dealer. I had a strong feeling that Father Frank didn't do it though, because they made him out to be the "bad guy" throughout the entire episode. It was somebody that you wouldn't expect, like the car dealer guy.

Loved the interactions between characters, especially the GSR. "Something I said?" "No, dear." I admit, I had a proper freakout when that happened. :D Poor Greg...his face is still all beaten up. And that was a rather odd Catherine/Greggo moment. 0.0! lol

  • Religious beliefs collide!

I love it when the team are working together and

That there is really something about them when they do

As Sarah and Gil hide their secret relationship with one another as they investigate a priest charged with a murder in which he says that God "told him to do it!"

God would never, ever, ask anybody to murder anybody as that isn't just against the law but one of the ten commandments!
  • Grissom, Catherine, the rest of the team. Working to solve the case. It was great to have them all together. I thought it was sad how things turned out. Girl hung up on a crucifixion in the Catholic church. Murdered by a friend.

I thought this was a good episode. I liked the moment when Catherine lit a candle for Sam it was sad though too. I felt bad for Greg watching him on the episode last night because you know he still has those bruises and still dealing with his ordeal. I enjoyed the conversation between Catherine and Greg over that. I absolutely loved it when Grissom called Sara dear. It was an awesome moment. I think they did a nice job on how the case unfolded. When we found out that the girl had been friends with both the Priest and car dealer was interesting. I can't believe that nun tried to take the fall for Father Frank. But people do crazy things sometimes. I definitely enjoyed the episode.
  • An investigation into murder yields some very sad, but touching moments for a man of the cloth and his best friends.

What could be more shocking than seeing the inside of a serene, peaceful church turned into the site of a bloody crucifixion? The aptly named episode, Double-cross, featured a case that took a love triangle plot beyond its norm to show the heartbreak of its players, and the inner turmoil of a Catholic priest. The love triangle involved Frank, who loved his best friend Charlotte, who loved him but also liked their mutual best friend Cody, who of course loved Charlotte. Of course, this is complicated by the huge issue that Frank is actually Father Frank. And although he appeared to be a caring and devout priest for most of his life, he was being being pulled in two directions. One was his love for the church, the other was his love for Charlotte and the thought of a life with her. After much detective work and interrogation, we found out that Charlotte was strangled with a rosary and then crucified in the rectory. When Cody went to the church, he entered the confessional. A moment later, we saw Father Frank physically attack him. Next, we got an insight into how troubled people can become based on their love of one another, devotion to the church and God, and mandates such as confession and forgiveness of the Catholic faith. A nun confessed to the killing to save the Father. Next, Father Frank confessed out of his own guilt for having a relationship with her and betraying Cody and the Church. Finally, we get the hard truth after Grissom pushed the team to keep looking for answers because he couldn't accept that the priest had killed her. Life under the cross and its juxtaposition to deceit and the betrayal of the love triangle made the episode thought provoking and touching. We saw some touching moments between Grissom and Sara, and got some insight into their beliefs on faith. This was an excellent episode that showed a great mix of detective and forensic work.
  • He called her dear...

    "Perfect"
He called her dear. Grissom called Sara dear. When they were talking about god and religion and he ran off. When he came back Sara was so worried that she had upset him and he said no dear. I might just repeat that comment like a million times. I was never a shipper until it happened. Now I notice all the little things – like when he was showing her how the rosary fit the bruise pattern on the victim’s neck – when she leaned forward she was resting her chin on him. I just hope that they can continue the way they are with their private moments. I mean they work with a bunch of investigators. It is just a matter of time before one or more of them starts to notice something. Other notes that made it to my head after he called her dear. Glad that Greg is back at work – he did nothing wrong and I hope he gets that. Cath lit a candle for Sam – I was hoping for a bit more closure on that, but this is CSI, that might not happen.
  • Religious love story that\'s actually interesting.

When I first saw the preview for this episode, I was like, \"I dunno abou this, this episode isn\'t looking all too interesting.\" Then they brought in the love triangle plot, followed with some GSR (Grissom/Sara) scenes. I was baptized Christain but I\'ve never been much of a Chritain due tothe way people two face the image of God. I figured watching this would be a bit of a problem, but it wasn\'t. In fact, it was very interesting and sad. Cody liked Charlotte, who liked Frank, who liked her. I felt kind of bad for Cody when eh found out the baby was his and he killed it. I thought it was sweet that Frank would give up his career as a Priest to be with Charlotte.

I think the one thing that really had me wanting to see this episode was Greg. He was still very bruised, which they did an EXCELLENT job on the makeup. And he came back to wrok early. Again. In all this episode definitely deserves a 10 for taking a potenially boring plot and twisting it into something enjoyable.
  • The CSI team investigates the death of a woman who was crucified in a church.

    7.5
    "Good"
If you're really big fans of CSI and know well how they(the CSI writers) develope the storylines, you'd probably be able to pick out the suspect without having to see the ending of this episode. (Actually, it is not difficult to say that the suspect boils down to either the priest or the car salesman. And the priest confessed he killed her, but it was not the right time to end the show. It was too early.) And one thing that confused me was the young nun. She did nothing, but she kept appearing on the screen until she falsely confessed the murder in order to protect the priest with these worried looks, which made me think she did something. By the way, Sara's theory on religion kinda surprised me. She did say "Sometimes, I think we made up God just to have someone to blame for our mistakes." I am not a Catholic or anything, but I never thought about God the way she did. I am not criticizing her opinion, but I guess it indicates her cool-headed(?) personality. In spite of the plain storyline, I liked the background music in this episode. The choir music kinda calmed me down and it went well with the tragic ending where the great friendship between the three people was torn apart. Feels like the music is still lingering on in my mind.
  • Investigating a murder on a crucifix in a church has Sara and Grissom sharing their opinion about religion...

    "Great"
Nothing much happen during the forty five minutes of the episodes … The team is investigating a case where a woman is strangled with a rosary and was found dead on a crucifix in a church and the priest of the church is among the suspects. Working on this case together made Sara and Grissom share their opinion about religion and we some character development in the Grissom-Sara relationship. It turns out the woman was murdered because of a love triangle; the man she was with found out that she was leaving him for his best friend who was also a priest.
  • Nothing really happen.

I found this episode pretty boring after last weeks. Look at Greg’s face…. I sorta knew that Greg's face was going to be like that. Beacause it happen at the end of season 3. It was also nice for Catherine to talk to Greg, that was very thoughtful of her. // I haven't watched the first two episode of this season, i know Sam die, but didn't know how, but it's cool of catherine to light a candle for her father.

Any way I love Sarah and Grisom scene they are so cool!!! did i hear Grisom say to Sarah "Dear". hehehe!!! love it!!! He did it so subtly!!! it took me a wee while and needed to asked my family (who was watching too) whether he say "dear", and checked it online too. LOVE IT!!! MORE of GSR!!!!

Wasn’t surprise to realize who the father of the baby is from, well to me it wasn’t a surprise, I little too predictable for me, any way.
  • Who would want to crucify someone in a church? The same person who would strangle someone with a rosary.

i just saw Double Cross on the internet (since it's gonna take forever for Season 7 to get here) and it was really interesting to see another episode set in the church. I wouldn't say that the story line was the greatest, but the script was very well-written how it touches the notion of a 'higher power', as Sara called it. The note-worthy "religious" conversations in the show i could remember so far are from the last scenes of "Altar Boys" back in Season 2, and "Harvest" in Season 5. Well for one, I never saw Jesus' death in a very forensic manner. I didn't even consider that he died of suffocation. But D-Rob's explanation makes sense. Of course, it must be very difficult to breath when your body is forced in that position. I didn't even know there is a theology on resurrection and crucifixion. This episode certainly brings out a lot of religious issues like sin, and celibacy. Issues that are controversial and touchy in MY culture, yet it is intellectually stimulating to listen to how some characters view them.

Who say's you can't learn anything from this show??!

Character wise, it was really heartening to see Catherine light up a candle for Sam in the church(though i'm not really sure if she should be doing that in a crime scene...) And, Grissom casually calling Sara "Dear" is really sweet. =)

Overall, this episode is meaningful for me, someone raised in a very religion-oriented and conservative culture. **runs off to watch the rest of Season7 before it gets deleted online =p**
  • Good Show with pretty standard CSI stuff...but (as always) nice to watch

It is really a nice episode, with all the stuff we love about this show... looking foward to the moment the secret affair will come out:-))

But there is one thing that annoys me lately... there are more and more scenes in which some body of the team finds pieces of evidence at a crime scene and bags it WITHOUT taking a picture before hand...may sound petty-minded but with a show that is so proud on details...nice one anyway...cheers
  • A woman is found crucified in a church and evidences lead to Father Franck, the priest in charge and also an old friend of the victim...

I was pretty excited when I read about the "no,dear" scene, but even though I was thrilled to finally watch it, I didn't find the whole episode that great.

The love triangle is old as the world, and the CSI team looks a little dull. And Grissom, who I usually love, talks in a preachy way which doesn't fit him. Plus there are less "CSI" stuff, and too much boring bla bla bla ... Besides, I regret that sister Bridget character(played by Meredith Monroe from Dawson's Creek) had not been developped a little, since it's obvious she has a crush on the priest.

    Anyway, I'm still a fan ;-)
  • nothing special

    "Great"
A rather uninspired episode, didn't catch me at all.

The whole crucifixion thing was kinda excessive (this woman is the love of your life and to punish her not only you kill her, but crucifix her too? Come on...), while the investigation was a standard one, no big thrills and revelations.

Glad to see Greg immediately back in action, that Sofia is now a group member fully in charge and seeing the all team working together on a single case.

A boring episode, maybe I was too excited for the great start of this season. Still high quality, but not as brilliant as in the recent past.
  • The crucifixion of a struggling singer leads the team to the lives of a car salesman and a priest, whose past with the victim puts them in a bad situation.

    8.9
    "Great"
Being a Catholic, I'd probably die of a heart attack if I was the one who found the body.

The case wasn't that great. Typical love triangle story, and for some reason the involvement of the priest made it look more cliche to me. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the Church or anything. I'm a Catholic, but not a very devout one.

But I digress. It did surprise me that the car salesman, who was the killer, was the father of the victim's unborn child. There's nothing like adding insult to injury when you find out you just murdered your own kid.

Another thing I like was Grissom and Sara. He called her "dear". I like their pairing, but I've never really been a shipper until this episode.

All in all, an okay episode. A little disturbing on my part though (I'm kinda afraid of statues of Jesus, Mary, etc.).
  • Why prop up a body on a cross in a church - just to get back at the priest....

    7.6
    "Good"
This episode was quite possibly the least believable since the season opener. Come on, we never really get to know just why the hell Cody put up the love of his life on the cross. He kills her out of jealousy, fine, but why crucify her? That was just handled badly, felt like an idea that the writers had to get a catchy scene for the previews and the trailer. Same goes for the blood dripping on the statue...... strange coincindence .....or was it just to freak out the nuns, which by the way were hilarious!!

It was very clear, early on that Cody and/or Father Frank had something to do with the murder, so no mistery there.

The tidbits with Greg, him suffering the effects of last weeks episode, were nice. It is important to have some continouity, sth. they have not but should have done with Nick after the Grave danger episode.
  • This was plain BAD!

    1.0
    "Abysmal"
I am a hardcore CSI fan, but man, THIS was plain BAD! It was even worse than the previous episode. The season started so good! What happened? They changed writers? What is all this so called ethical spiritual boring conversations? Grissom used to open his mouth and say intelligent things! Lately all that comes out of his mouth sounds like a “good behaviour” advertisement for juveniles and unintelligent moralistic quotes for imbeciles. The storyline was boring and unoriginal. Grissom acted like a robot and the rest of them seemed completely uninterested in what they were doing. It seems as if the producers forced these last 2 episodes to the writers. Something like : “Do a couple of this kind of episodes if you want to continue doing what you REALLY want to do” Just to have something to show if some Christian organisation accuse them for immorality or something. It’s this, or the writers suffered a massive stroke and they write with whatever is left from their brain. Which is …. nothing.

It is sad really, because I like this show :( I hope it’s just the weather or something and the madness will end soon.
